He'll make them pay for passing on him.
Nah. Dalvin Cook is mad overrated. Not even a top 5 RB in this class IMO. Even without the off-field issues. His on-field skills simply don't impress me. Dude is kinda stiff, doesn't have much agility or shake to his game. I also question his durability and vision. He's a decent one-cut runner with good speed. In the right system he might have a couple of good seasons. However, he will never be an elite RB in the league and he definitely won't be the best RB from this class.
Swag's Top 5 RBs in the 2017 NFL Draft
1. Alvin Kamara (Tennessee) - Marshall Faulk 2.0.....has the balance and power to run between the tackles....but also has the speed and explosiveness to hit the edge......outstanding pass catcher out of the backfield and can be split out wide and run routes like a receiver.....incredible balance as a runner with outstanding ability to break tackles for his size.....a future HALL OF FAMER
2. James Conner (Pittsburgh) - best pure RB in this draft....doesn't have Kamara's versatility....but is amazing between the tackles...he'll be in the NFL what people thought Leonard Fournette would be....a future SUPERSTAR
3. Joe Mixon (Oklahoma) - reminds me of Fred Taylor.....love his size, speed, power, and agility......might be the best all-around RB in this draft.....another SUPERSTAR
4. Christian McCaffrey (Stanford) - will never be a between the tackles 20 carries per game runner but will be a dynamic all-around weapon....poor man's Alvin Kamara because he shares Alvin's skill as a receiver out of the backfield, however, he lacks Kamara's ability as a between the tackles runner.....in the right system he can also be a SUPERSTAR
5. Leonard Fournette (LSU) - will have a good pro career....however it won't be as great as many think.....his pro career will be like Hershel Walker.....it'll be succesful but extremely underwhelming given what he did in college and what hype he came into the league with....I question his vision and ability to make something out of the nothing if the holes are not there....I believe his struggles against Alabama exposed his limitations as a runner
I think this draft ultimately produces 4 elite RBs: Alvin Kamara, James Conner, Joe Mixon, and Christian McCaffrey.
However, there should be plenty of other good starting caliber RBs in this draft as well.
