@KevJ doesn't want to give up anything at all to get something, keeps talking about that Memphis pick like it's not protected until 2021. If he signs an extension they would be stupid not to get Tatum or Brown from them.
If they trade for George, it's highly unlikely that he signs an extension this year. The Celtics aren't going to give up Brown or Tatum for a rental. I think the pick they got from Philly could be in play as well. But even without the Philly pick I think the Celtics could have the best offer for George on the table. The question is why Hayward and George long term? I actually like the thought of both for a year, with George moving on.
@Malta
Celtics gonna sign Hayward
Then trade Bradley crowder and two first rounders for Paul George
Thomas/smart/rozier/jackson
George/brown/
Hayward/Tatum/semi/nader
Horford/theiss/yabu
olynyk/zizic
Off the rip, they have to shed Mickey, Zeller & Jackson.
Neither Semi or Nader are locks to make the roster.
Yabu or Zizic, it won't be both and there is a possibility both could be stashed again.
I don't see Olynyk making the roster either.
Even without George & Hayward they still have to make a decision on Bradley, Smart, Thomas and Rozier. I only see two of these guys on the roster next year. Without the pump faking nonsense, the Celtics roster has to go through a major overhaul.
Moreover, Brown's needs to start. It makes no sense for players who aren't going to be apart of the Celtics future taking minutes away from him. I think Tatum assumes the role Brown had last year.
Lastly Malta is right about this, if it is George & Hayward long term you have one swingman too many. Maybe Tatum could play some 4 in the future but right now he's a 3 and so is Hayward. Brown could play the 2 but you'd have to play George at the 2 since he says he wont play PF.
