Collins wasn't even on the draft board until after that national championship game. He was a solid backup and you saw the potential at Zaga but no way in hell anyone thought he was ready for the NBA. I don't see how anyone picks him over Jarrett Allen, Justin Patton, Ivan rabb, swanigan. He's not the best center in thus draft.

I disagree. I happen to think Collins can be better off in the NBA. His biggest problem is every young big's biggest problem: he fouls too much. The guy can shoot, he's agile, he can impact a game (without him in foul trouble, the Zags probably beat UNC) and I do feel like his game was held back a bit. He can do more than what he showed.

His biggest problem is that he's not great at anything. He's got pretty wide, but stale skillset on an amazing frame - and GMs love thinking about a new Tyson Chandler to work with...

He's 21 and he's 7'3. Already adept at rim protecting...agile enough to get rebounds...Has proven both. And he's only 21. He's gonna get even better with that skill set.

He was as consensus lottery pick for next years draft. He wasn't some unknown that got rep off a tourney run.
