Looking at recruiting rankings and stars will tell you exactly who will generally be the best teams this year. Yes, you have 3* players that end up being great, but by and large, the teams with the highest rated players will be the best teams in the country. This is a very well known and unarguable fact.
No the fukk it's not.

Look at what Ole Miss did with all those 5 stars....

Look at what Ron Zook did with all that talent...

Luke fukkel...

Great coaching PLUS talented players is why the top teams are who they are year in and year out.

Ole Miss had a handful of good players. They didn't have a full roster of top 5 recruiting classes. And with that handful of good players they had the most success we've seen from Ole Miss in I don't know how long. Are you serious?

Zook basically had one season with his players being upper classmen. Many of those players ended up being part of the 2006 national championship (thanks for helping prove my point).

And Fickle had one short time for a season with a true freshman at QB.

Look at the past champions, they all have been top 5 classes up and down the roster (OSU, FSU, Bama) or have had good classes with otherworldly level play from the 5* QB (Clemson and Auburn). Again, this is an unarguable fact which I do not understand why you choose to argue against.

Not arguing against it, just saying it takes a combo of both.

We've seen coaches win big with less talent more than we've seen shytty coaches win with a lot of talent.

Gary Patterson
Chris Peterson
Chip Kelly
David FN Shaw
Tom Herman
Barney Hoke/Jim Harbaugh

Had TCU not been screwed in 2014, Gary Patterson for sure would've had one :mjpls:

Let me ask you a question though, how many active NCAA coaches have a national title on their resume?

Answer my question first. My entire premise is about winning national championships, and you brought up coaches that have had a few 10 win seasons. Who among those coaches you named without having top 5 classes has won a national championship?
