SEC on CBS won't air a Week 1 game, instead it will start with TCU @ Arkansas and then Tennessee @ Florida the next week.
They do that every year tho, usually SEC on CBS doesn't start until Week 3 with UF/Tenn or SCAR/UGA

Nah, they stopped that once the US Open moved from CBS.
Starting in 2015 with Louisville vs Auburn Week 1 and Georgia @ Vandy Week 2.
Then in 2016 with UCLA @ Texas A&M Week 1 and Kentucky @ Florida Week 2.
AD put Sumlin on notice. They're ready to hire one of their own - Chad Morris.

the top half ot their schedule is always loaded with cupcakes. they always use smoke/mirrors like this to build up momentum and attention for their program. then when the meat of the SEC schedule starts, they get exposed.
last year they underachieved by 2 games imo and had no business losing the home bowl game.
