something about Dobbs makes me think he doesn't LOVE football like that. He's more into his aerospace stuff but happens to be good at football.

Unless there's a miraculous jump, I dont even see how him and Watson are comparable.

Dobbs cares about football. He's very competitive and driven. The difference between him and Watson right now isn't talent or drive, its COACHING.

Watson has a coach that believes in him and will put the game and season in his hands. Butch on the other hand has put shackles on Dobbs because he's so into analytics. Rather than letting Dobbs be Dobbs, he's a control freak and rarely lets him loose.

If you look at Dobbs last 2 seasons, you'll see that his 2 best performances (South Carolina 2014 and Georgia 2015) came in the only 2 games he's started where Tennessee fell behind by 14+ points. With such huge deficits Butch had no choice but to put the game in Dobbs hands and Dobbs responded with 300+ yards passing, 100+ yards rushing, and 5 TDs in each of those 2 games including 2 pretty epic comebacks.

In almost every other game, the gameplan is to be CONSERVATIVE. Lots of run calls and short screen passes. He rarely lets Dobbs have the same freedom Dabo gives Watson. That is the only difference between the two.

Interesting. As long as they keep the early kickoff :ehh:

I find it funny how Fox and Espn are going back and forth to pick what games they want.

I prefer the kickoff at 2:30 cst/3:30 est. Game isn't too early, and not late when it gets cold in the Midwest in late November. But the second half of a 2:30 game has the night feel when the game could get interesting towards the end to make for a better atmosphere.
