I do not expect Baylor to keep up their old levels of performance and play. Baylor is a s-y-s-t-e-m. Much like Bobby Petrino taking off from Arkansas, Art Briles was the big brain behind that offense. And then they replace him with a goof like Jim Grobe?
:francis:

Baylor doesnt really play defense or recruit defense, they just try and outshoot people. And half their recruiting class just transferred..

I think 2012 arkansas is a good comparison...without the offensive guru team gonna look real average.:childplease:

There are coaches who staff and recruit and with talented players and coaches, like Harbaugh at Stanford (when he left, they kept it going)...and those who are clearly the guru behind the wins like Briles.

Yeah they'll make a bowl because schedule is so trash but Baylor is obviously damaged goods. Baylor gonna be used as a prop for Big 12 teams to get a "quality win" off of

ya'lls problem is y'all haven't proven to be battle tested.

Y'all folded against OU late, folded against Florida late, folded against Bama late. I don't see you go from that to undefeated or national title.

Not saying it's impossible, but you needed to win 1 of those.

You guys don't realize how young we were last year. Just think about it this way, we have only 6 seniors in our starting lineup THIS SEASON and 8 total in our 2-deep. And this was on a team that returned almost all of our starters from last year.

That means 16 of our 22 starters and 36 of our top 44 players in the 2-deep for 2016 will be sophomores and juniors. Butch Jones recruited like crazy in 2014 and 2015 and those guys from the back to back top 5 classes made up nearly our entire 2-deep last year.

Those guys were freshmen and sophomores last year. 50% of the team had no playing experience in the SEC. They're now juniors and sophomores with extensive playing experience. I expect them to improve immensely now that they have loads of playing experience.

Telling Erick Fowler to uncommit from us on NSD so we don't have a chance to go after someone else. That might not be a big deal to Yu but then there's the sleeping with a booster's wife idk how he was able to get out of that one without anyone noticing.
Breh, Strong is as real as they come in college football. The parents love him and the players are loyal to him (see the end of the OU game last year).

He never told Fowler to uncommit on NSD. Fowler's recruitment was always going to go down to the end. According to Fowler, he didn't make his decision until that day. They were periscoping in Strong's office when Fowler made his decision, none of the coaches knew ahead of time where he was going.

Now, if you want to get upset about a last minute flip, Rahsaan Thornton (who looks great on the hoof for yall already) secretly contacted Strong on NSD about flipping to us but we didn't have room at that point.

oh, ok I didn't know all those dudes were kicked off.

But still keep in mind:

They're early schedule is trash. So they can be 5-0 by the time players come back from injury. Or by the time they find their footing
And alot of those dudes are probably motivated.

They know they gotta have a big year to become cool again for next yrs recruits.
:mjlol: never...

those sanctions are going to be ruthless. :banderas:

You don't understand what @jadillac is saying. Those "all time great teams" you're comparing this average ass Tennessee team to actually won against good teams the year before when they were young. That 2000 Miami team beat #1 FSU and #2 Virginia Tech before returning a bulk load of those players and created the great 2001 team. That 2007 Florida team beat a Tennessee team that finished the season ranked #12. They showed they could beat good teams the year before. That 2004 USC team split a national title the year before, and even in 2002 had beaten like 6 or 7 teams that were ranked at the time USC played them.

In contrast, this Tennessee team lost to every good team they played and beat the average/bad teams. That doesn't foreshadow an all-time great team. Teabow won the Heisman in Florida's down season. Dobbs wasn't even All-SEC. There's literally no comparison and nobody with a sliver of sense would think this team looks like some all time great because they were young the year before and lost to every good team they played.
