I was mad as hell they didnt OU over vs Mich St just for the sugar bowl rematch. The narratives alone would've been more interesting

Yeah they butchered the matchups rather seen OU/Bama and MSU/Clemson those were pretty much rematches of 2 of the worst blowouts this decade in bowls. They gave Bama a cherry pick matchup as far as style goes I wanted to see Bama vs the OU air raid offense

They tried to be "smart" and save that for the title game

Jameis couldn't run and I prefer dual threat QBs. Plus he had that weird corkscrew delivery.

Dobbs is the better athlete, just as strong an arm. Winston is more accurate right now. But we'll see how much Dobbs improves this season.

Bc to say Hurd is the best RB in football, NFL included, is just fukking stupid and goes beyond "hows he any different than us" talk. How seerious would you take me if i said Tabor was the best CB in football, NFL included?

He not even the best RB in his conference and hell, not even the best RB in his division. He aint even the SECOND best in the SEC, that's Sony Michell with Chubb being the best

That's mainly because the current crop of RBs in the NFL is weak. Adrian Peterson is 31 and still the best. That alone should tell you we are at an all-time low.

If you would like, I think many guys in college right now could be among the best in the NFL.

In 2 years I expect Hurd, Elliott, and Fournette to be the top 3 RBs in the NFL.

Practice report from fan day

This was the one practice during fall camp that's open to the media.

It was Fan Day inside Bryant-Denny Stadium Sunday, and fans and the media were able to watch Alabama go through its fourth practice of fall camp.

Here is a rundown of what happened:

— My opinion on the quarterbacks: Jalen Hurts had the best day. Blake Barnett had the second-best day. Cooper Bateman was third. Hurts is a legitimate contender to win the starting quarterback job.

— Blake Barnett with probably the best throw of the day. Rolling left, he threw a touchdown of around 40 yards in the corner of the the end zone to Trevon Diggs. Went right over the outstretched hand of Tony Brown. Perfectly placed ball.

— Freshman running back B.J. Emmons is a physical runner. Has been lowering his shoulder and initiating a lot of contact in light contact drills.

— A couple nice balls from Cooper Bateman — a nicely placed fade route to Gehrig Dieter and then a deep completion of around 30 yards to O.J. Howard on a corner route. Bateman then threw a long touchdown pass to a wide open Irvin Smith. It was a blown coverage.

— Keith Holcombe intercepts Jalen Hurts on a short pass over the middle.

— Deep touchdown pass down the middle from Jalen Hurts to Calvin Ridley. Beat freshman cornerback Jared Mayden.

— Cooper Bateman has struggled some today. Just threw a pass into double coverage that was almost intercepted.

— Two nice throws from Jalen Hurts in 11-on-11. On the first, safety Deionte Thompson had tight coverage, wide receiver T.J. Simmons over the middle, but Hurts fit the ball into a tight space. Hurts then had a nice pass of around 20 yards to Robert Foster along the sideline.

— The first-team kick returners are Calvin Ridley and ArDarius Stewart. The second-team kick returners are Xavian Marks and Damien Harris.

— Two nice catches just now in 7-on-7. Robert Foster had a contested catch deep down the sideline. Trevon Diggs then made a contested catch across the middle.

— The first-team secondary during a 7-on-7 passing drill is Marlon Humphrey and Anthony Averett at cornerback, Minkah Fitzpatrick at nickel back and Ronnie Harrison and Eddie Jackson at safety.

— The second-team defensive backs: Anthony Averett and Kendall Sheffield at cornerback and Deionte Thompson and Hootie Jones at safety.

— Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts look the best of the quarterbacks thus far.

— Quarterback David Cornwell, who is dealing with a foot injury, is working off to the side as the other quarterbacks go through drills that require movement.

— Wide receiver Xavian Marks looked quick and elusive in one-on-one and one-on-two ball-carrier drills.

— Blake Barnett looked good and comfortable in an early 7-on-7. All of them were short-to-intermediate throws, but he was 5 of 5 or 6 of 6 during that session.

— A couple off-target throws from Cooper Bateman in 7-on-7. A deep comeback bounced at the feet of the intended receiver. A short throw over the middle was then low and off-target.

— Tony Brown is at free safety.

— Rashaan Evans is the inside linebacker next to Reuben Foster in nickel.

— The first-team offensive line early in practice is Cam Robinson at left tackle, Lester Cotton at left guard, Ross Pierschbacher at center, Bradley Bozeman at right guard and Jonah Williams at right tackle.

Excited to see where Xavian Marks will fit when the season starts, could be a secret weapon for our offense. I think Hurts and Barnett will eventually separate themselves, if they haven't already. I really want Tony Brown to ball out this year, it's time. All in all very excited going into the season.

I saw this breh. And I'm really starting to be impressed by Hurts. I know this is some shyt a Bama fan wouldn't/shouldn't probably say. But I'll take a 10-4 season. For a future black QB superstar. I wanna see homie win three straight NC and be crowned the GOAT Bama QB ever. That being said. IF Blake beats him out I wouldn't be mad either. especially if it means another NC this year.

Or maybe Adrian Peterson is the elitest of elite.

i think we get 8 wins then get back on the scene in '17. people raving about the size of the freshmen....they already bigger than mack's seniors.
