LSU was a sleeping giant till they hired Nick Saban

Lots of sleeping giants out there in CFB

I would say the best example of a team that wasn't a sleeping giant, but became good through money and country-wide recruiting is Oregon

LSU is a fantastic job. To tell the truth you can't go wrong with almost any SEC job. Money, access to local talent and wins.

Look at schools like your Wisconsins and your Iowas.. They are perfectly willing to accept a 3* in Texas, Florida, California >> a 3* elsewhere. So they spend plenty of time mining high schools down there.

To me, any team where you can drive over instead of take a plane to do your recruiting, is a better job.

They seem to be losing that though......I see some of their fans talking about what would happen if they went 7-5 this year.......Still have Nike backing them up, but their coach is the question.

Every year's team is "similar" to 2011, but how many times have they matched the level of 2011? Zero

Plus no Honey Badger, so FOH with that
This the first time we haven't been crippled by the draft.

Fournette's this teams honey badger

I thought Rutgers was gonna be next back in '06

I did too, then they made some crap hires

If they can get their defense fixed, they still have enough atheltes to where they can compete, but if they just become another shootout team then the glory days might be over

No, they're not

When you got dudes like Knowshon Moreno, Muhammad Wilkerson, Brian Cushing, Jabrill Peppers and countless other freak athletes in your backyard you could very conceivably field a top 10 team.

The big 10 dollars will help them fix their athletic dept. weaknesses in time.

Takes more than in state talent to be a great program.
