Honestly best cfb jobs to me as far as best chance to win NCs

Ohio tSt and USC

Ohio State doesn't have the in-state recruiting base. There's a reason they got destroyed by SEC schools in the championship games till Urban got there and started recruiting the south.

Best jobs imo are:

1. LSU - incredible recruiting base, 0 competition

2. USC - should have SoCal to themselves

3. Georgia - theoretically should be able to land the best players in GA

4. Florida/Florida State/Miami - whoever is the hot school in Florida at the moment usually a national title contender

5. Texas - talent in Texas is overrated but still should be able to field a title contender every year

In general ohio St has whole state to themselves and talent to puck from ohio Pennsylvania and they can puck from southern states.

USc has the whole west coast on lock they just cant get coaching hires right

That's Urban breh. That ain't Ohio State.

You can't get fooled by recent success. Its the same reason Bama isn't a top 5 job eventhough they can pluck anyone around the country.

To be a top 5 job, you got to be immune to recent success. And the only way to be immune to recent success is to have a top shelf in-state recruiting base.

IMO the only jobs with in-state recruiting bases sufficient to build a national title team is:

Florida/Florida State/Miami
Georgia
LSU
USC
Texas

That's it.

Hot bed for instate talent and they national school there's a reason osu been top 3-5 school past 25 years

Being the tallest midget doesn't make you tall.

I agree Ohio State is the best program in the Big 10. But that ain't saying much in the last 25 years.

Nebraska had a great 25 year run at one point too. And look at them now.

fukk u trying to say young punk? :Unoudonebuckedup:

You can't build a national title team with just Ohio kids.

Only schools in Florida, Georgia, California, Texas, and Louisiana can build title teams purely with in-state talent.

That's what makes the marquee schools in those states top 5 programs.

Those schools can be great regardless of the coach or on-field success at any given time.

But that's what it takes to be a top 5 job.

Who woulda believed in 1996 Nebraska Football would be what it is today 20 years later? Who woulda thought in 2005 that Tennessee football wouldn't be ranked in the top 10 again till 2016?

Unless you have an in-state recruiting base sufficient to build a national title contender, you'll always be under the whims of current success.

Lets say Urban retires and y'all make a mistake hiring the next coach. You could find the same fate. Maybe not as extreme as Nebraska or Tennessee. But definitely a fall like Notre Dame before Brian Kelly.

We've always been a top 5 job. What u talking bout. Tress won a chip in year 2, won more bcs games than any other program. Before him coach Coop had us top 5 every year he just couldnt win the big games. Before him Earl Bruce was up n down, and before him Woody Hayes is a all time great. Urban is Urban. We dont disappear for decades m decades like Tenn.

Because it was a racist school run by rednecks that Louisiana brothas wanted nothing to do with till Saban changed things.

Some of the Louisiana nikkas on here can explain it better. But essentially the black community in Louisiana looked at LSU as the school for racist cacs and brothas were prone to go out of state.

Also even if it was hard to get started, now the machine is humming and almost every young boy in Louisiana dreams to play football at LSU. So what happened pre-Saban is irrelevant.
I'm from Baton Rouge, guess that means i know better than you:sas1:
