No idea. Maybe he means 2004 when the Beavs blew Oregon out. I have no idea. Riley and the Beavs did win 2 straight in 06 and 07. But did not win again under Riley after that. And most game where not really that close.

Yeah USC fukked up they had about 3 chances to get Riley as they head coach and they blew it only thing working against him is his age but he's a guy that was a bright spot during the John Robinson 2.0 era when he was OC for the Rose Bowl and Cotton Bowl championship teams he went to garbage Oregon St and turned it around before Erickson really took advantage of it. USC should've got Riley in 2010 he knows how to develop talent and would've feasted at a school like USC it's tough winning at Oregon St to even have them in the convo in the Pac 12 as often as he did speaks to how good a football mind he is.

Riley did his thing he was one of the few coaches that went toe to toe with Petey even being severely outmanned they even beat USC twice when they were in the top 3 in the polls and lost by 6 in LA with Sean Mannion one year. Oregon went to another level when Chip took the job in 09 OSU couldn't hang anymore they played a couple close losses but most of those games turned into routes.

Riley was better than Kiffin and Sarkisian Oregon St is like Koch records shyts a graveyard its tough to win 8-9 games yearly even Erickson had trouble following a top 5 season and Fiesta Bowl blowout they following it up going 5-6 and that was with the addition of Steven Jackson.
Schools like Oregon St and Kansas St have no business being contenders speaks to greatness of a coach like Bill Snyder.
Oregon St finished 3rd or better in Pac 12 4 years in a row (06-09) he was more deserving of that USC job post Petey than the stooges they went after Riley sniped 2 of those USC teams and helped keep them from playing for championships. Before Riley took over OSU the first time in 97 Oregon St combined for 14 wins from 1990-1996 he won 8 first 2 seasons including upset over top 15 Oregon and nearly beat top 3 UCLA the week before. Riley built the OSU program which Erickson was able to expand upon that went 11-1 and came a missed fg from playing for National Title if you were following CFB back those words would've never came out anyone mouth.
Guess we gonna have to get the belt for Ole Miss this time.
