Dragic was a top 5 PG before Hornacek put him on the backburner, and Bosh is still a legitimate top 10 player - they don't need Wade to win games. That's where Gerald Green and Deng (whose inconsistent play should be a topic of discussion well before his health, after playing 72 games last season) come into play - that's more than enough wing support to plug the hole when Wade's minutes/games are managed when he and Spoelstra feels it's necessary. I don't see this as a team that'll be too worried about their regular season record, if the wins come, they come. More importance will be placed on hitting a run, maintaining health and keeping reps on an even keel in time for the postseason.I think Miami is gonna be streaky just because their team is so thin and dependent on how Wade gets out of bed.
Indy is the one team I don't even bother trying to understand anymore. They should've been a bottom 5 team last year. Their coach makes shyt happen - PG back is gonna be huge.
One of the worst starting frontcourts in the league, with bottom of the barrell depth
Options #1/#2 effectiveness and efficiency are reliant upon having the ball in their hands
Lack of 3-pt shooting - biggest starting threat is their PG who falls around the medium of the league
One catch-and-shoot player in the starting lineup who's middle of the road offensively
Lack of size in the backcourt/wings - small ball (PG at the 4) pushes this out further
No proper defensive anchor
The glaring surface issues aside - this team has opted for a complete change in identity - not only personnel changes but also a deviation from the slow-paced, defense-orientated style they've had for the last half a decade. This team is an unknown quantity, who'll have to go through the trial and error of seeing how a new system works. Success doesn't usually come in the first season to teams who drastically switch shyt up like this, it's gonna take time and likely more changes before we see this team competing for a top 4 seed.
