The only thing Miami has going for them, and its a damned good thing if I'm not hating, is Bosh + Whiteside. That shyt is gonna crush buildings. People think that Gasol and Z-Bo are a problem... I don't think that B/W is quite the absolute controlling force that those guys are, but offensively they're waaaay more versatile and in the East there won't be half the competition.

Everything else on Miami's roster is a questionmark or :flabbynsick:

And I still think Spoelstra is one of the league's more overrated coaches.

I got Indy, Chicago, and darkhorse Hornets as the surprises in the East this year.
Chicago is a "dark horse" :leostare:
you got Indy and, surprise, the Hornets.....to do what exactly?

Hornets won 33 games with the ultimate trainwreck of a season. Everything that could've gone wrong did. Somehow still managed a top ten defense in spite of all that and this year they literally improved at every position. They crack 90 pts a night and they win more games than they lose. They actually start to score even somewhat consistently and teams are gonna be in some shyt.

Chicago... I guess I should've said surprise two seed. I don't think Atlanta collapses entirely like most do. They'll still be a good team, but Butler and Mirotic in a real offense is gonna be some shyt. Especially if Noah isn't actually dead.

Pacers would've easily made the playoffs last year if George was around. I don't think they miss a beat this year.

I also think the Wizards, Raptors, and Nets all remember that they were going to fire their coaches despite their talent. Detroit and Milwaukee... both have me skeptical for the weirdest reasons. I think MCW is a WOAT PG candidate and something about Detroit just doesn't work for me yet.

pretty sure most have Bulls as #2 right now behind cavs. even if they don't that doesn't make them a dark horse.
you still didn't say what you think the hornets will do this season :leostare:
Indy making the playoffs wouldn't be a surprise :yeshrug:

I think the Hornets can get 46+ wins :mjpls: more if Kemba actually proves he deserves his job

Top 4 - Cavs Bulls Hawks Pacers

@42 Monks

How are the Hornets going to protect the rim with a Jefferson/Kaminsky/Zeller/Hawes front line?
There's this foul rumor that Kaminsky can't defend when he actually had a higher defensive rating than most people's favorite prospects last year. He's no shot blocker though, I'll give you that. Zeller's better than most people give him credit for. All the bigs need to do on this team is rebound and hedge.

But it doesn't matter tbh :manny: Al Jefferson is literally the worst defensive player I've ever seen in my life and we had a top 5 defensive team with him the season before last. MKG guards everyone. Batum shoring up the weak side and added scoring easily offset it going off of the season before last.

This is the first year I've ever been confident in my team tbh. I'm usually an a$$hole about the Horncats.

@42 Monks whats your full top 8 seeds for the east?
Cavs
Bulls
Toronto - and only because SOMEONE from the trashlantic division has to get into the playoffs by default. and boston ain't got the manpower. literally WOAT division this year and someone will get homecourt
Miami
Pacers
Hawks
Hornets
Wiz

hate the division stuff in the nba really. only thing that kept houston as a two seed last year

In no particular order:

Cavs
Raptors
Bulls
Heat
Hawks
Wizards

Then you'll have the Bucks, Celtics, Pacers, Pistons, Nets, Hornets and Magic fighting for those last two seeds. I honestly won't be surprised if Indiana misses out altogether.

Agreed the hornets had to much talent last year to be missing the playoffs last year and the same goes for this year.

You shyttin on the Heat's chances, yet hyping up one of the most fundamentally flawed teams in the East? :francis:
I think Miami is gonna be streaky just because their team is so thin and dependent on how Wade gets out of bed.

Indy is the one team I don't even bother trying to understand anymore. They should've been a bottom 5 team last year. Their coach makes shyt happen - PG back is gonna be huge.
