That's a random game in December...
Toss out his numbers during some games that actually mean something...like the WCF when SA beat them in 6...
I don't think you want KD guarding any post players at all seeing as how he is coming off of multiple foot surgeries...
I think you want to keep KD feet far away from the feet of the largest men on the floor...
He is going to have to carry you offensively...I would think you would want to hide him on the other teams worst offensive perimeter player...
KD is not physical built to have to hoist up 30 shots a game AND guard big men on a consistent basis...doing one is going to seriously impact how he does the other due to his slight frame and lack of upper body strength...
And that is not a knock on KD...it is what it is...as a coach I don't want my perennial all nba mvp candidate player mixing it up with big men when he has trouble posting up the likes of chris paul and tony allen...
Adams was a rookie in those WCF & spent the whole year being told to just worry about defense. All he did his rookie season was finish easy layups & dunks. This past year he started getting post looks because of all the injuries, he's going to keep getting better, so saying he can't score is writing him off pretty early.
KD ain't going to be guarding those guys all game though. The last couple years the Thunders best lineups have been with KD at the 4 & Ibaka at the 5, so it isn't like they can't do it. Like I said though West, Diaw, & even Aldridge shoot jumpers more than anything else so KD guarding them for stretches of games isn't going to be a big deal.
The point of getting Kanter (& even Waiters to a lesser degree) is so that KD (& Russy) doesn't have to take 30 shots to carry us, & balance out the offense more.
OKC going small probably is their best lineup and Donovan is known for that so I'm sure it'll be utilized a ton, but Aldridge would murder Durant in the post. The jumpers give people the impression that he's a pure high post player ala Dirk but LMA can also back you down with force and shoot hooks or his signature up & under once he establishes position. Then he's a great offensive rebounder that'll give anyone let alone KD some issues boxing out. I can see the Spurs exploiting that on every possession until OKC doubles in that matchup
He gonna give up that big ass contract?
He gonna give up that big ass contract?
Nikkas should have just signed with them when he had the chance.
I'm with trading Ty. He's been full I don't give a fukk mode since the all star break.
I'd take Alec burks or Burke and a first
Justin Anderson and a first or 2
Dekker, Harrell, filler and a future first for him.
Seems like those are the only 3 teams that would be seriously interested (unless that d-will thing happens). Let mudiay and nurk cook, then get that better of our and NYK pick in there.
