It all depends on Kobe's health. If Kobe is healthy, they can win the west. It's all about skillsets as opposed to being a superstar. GS is not great. Steph is the only one that can be considered borderline great. Kobe when healthy is undeniable greatness. Kobe nearly won a championship with Smush Parker & Kwame Brown.

That's the point. They need to acquire back assets for him to accelerate the rebuilding process.

I don't think Melo sees that he's on a rebuilding team and when it finally hits him he won't be happy.

Why though? All the money is pretty much gone and it's still capable players out there. GS just won the title with rejects basically.

Lakers won in reality. Everybody talks about Kobe's "toxic contract" but who is there to sign? None of these maxed out free agents are real difference makers. Lakers should sign Biyombo, JaVale McGee, KJ McDaniel, Gerald Green, Corey Brewer & re-sign Jordan Hill. This team can win the West if Kobe is healthy.
