Just look like a lot of knick fans are disappointed and was expecting to be this summer adding great players to add with Melo and compete for a title right now, but the roster as currently constructed, we can't even book them getting into the playoffs with that roster.

But I think this was the best they could do at this stage. Just gotta hope the knicks over achieve make it to maybe 5th seed compete in the 1st rd to make ny more attractive next season.

Going to have to be a short leash on fisher and that triangle tho.

Maybe you should comb through that 2016 free agent list again...

It's not what you think it is.

:mjpls:

Kevin Durant and Mike Conley are unrestricted FA. Would expect the Knicks to pursue them hard, would help their case to put a solid product on the floor this year that'll encourage prospective FA about the direction of this franchise

If they don't sign a star in 2016, thats fine. Sign some quality contributors just as they have this offseason and then go into the next FA period with max cap space. Not everything has to be a race to become a contender, a slow methodical building process with a clear plan for improving every season is respectable. Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, Stephen Curry, Jrue Holiday, Jeff Teague among others headline the '17 FA class

Maybe they'll waive Calderon and stretch his contract ala Josh Smith to get more cap room.

I wasnt even counting him

But 42 mil between melo/porzingis/grant/lopez is not a great look

Minnesota has rubio/lavine/wiggins/shabazz/towns/dieng/pekovic/tyus for less thsn 40 for comparison sake

Minnesota has been able to rebuild through the draft. Knicks havent been as fortunate so 42mil between those players is logical considering they are just trying to be more competitive than they were last year. No way else for us to do that other than to spend money.

Kings are showing a historic level of ineptness this summer :deadmanny:

They should have let them go to Seattle instead of throwing a new owner there in the last minute who makes Dolan look competent

Thry showing interest in josh smith and might throw him a nice contract, completely relieving the Pisstions of their financial responsibility of Smith
