Jeez how is Okafor suppose to operate in the post with the opposing point guard damn near humpin his leg with how far they gonna play off Scrubio.
Reading up and watching videos on Towns....I feel like he is a no brainer to go first..
I'm not sure how much better Okafor will be...But Towns can be a terror....
i think Okafor to Wolves would be smarter than Towns. Jah would give them that go to scorer they need while towns provides jack of all trades assets. Like when the spurs cant score or other team goes on a run they dump it to timmy and he just methodically throws up a boring shot that goes in.
Okafor and towns is kind of like wiggins and jabari. Potential vs skill
There has to be a payoff to all of this though. It's as if they're doing all this losing to be what they used to be at their peak. The only reason why I'm not bugging out about that is because they're realistically never gonna win a title. 11 years in and fresh off of a 66 loss season, the playoffs couldn't be farther away and this team's doing the same dumb shyt they did before. Drafting Okafor isn't an indictment on Okafor. It's an indictment on a team that doesn't seem to wanna learn from their mistakes. Okafor's gonna get busy, score 22/10/3 dimes a night maybe, but they're gonna lose most games because Flip has never attempted to fix glaring holes, holes Okafor will help continue to cause.That... I can agree with. I'm just saying I understand Flip's reasoning. But fans like Tre don't want another rebuild even though they just got back to back back #1 picks on their team. It's time to move past the Rubio/Pek era and focus on Wiggins and probably Okafor.
If Okafor is the go-to scorer, why the hell is Wiggins here because it's not as if he's great at anything else at the moment.
the same way Wiggins and Bazz do.Jeez how is Okafor suppose to operate in the post with the opposing point guard damn near humpin his leg with how far they gonna play off Scrubio.
Parker's on a team with Greek Freak, Henson, MCW, lanky defenders everywhere. He can be hidden. Okafor would have Ricky and a 15-18 mpg 39 year old KG.Okafor and towns is kind of like wiggins and jabari. Potential vs skill
Fair enough. I just think Towns needs a lot of development and isn't guaranteed to be a sure thing in Minny. That's not entirely true, the issue with them is that one of them is perceived as a two way player with similar offensive potential, while the other guy is a one way player. Look at the Kings and Pelicans for an example, they have the elite two way player while the Kings have an elite offensive player and it's more difficult to build around him as a result. With Towns you're just going to need a basic 5 that can rebound and guard his position, with Okafor and the direction the NBA is moving you'll have to find a defensive PF that can make the 3 to play next to him and currently there's really only 1 of those in the league.
They have to get rid of Rubio/Pek regardless of who they pick, but they should go with Towns because of what they already have on the roster. You could play him next to Dieng, which is something you won't be able to do with Okafor.

But then again I'm biased and think either player is more likely to reach their potential in LA. I'm a fan of both.
Well saidWiggins and Okafor isn't a good combo. Wiggins takes up a lot of space when he's scoring and posts up a lot, that don't mix with a primarily offensive center. If they were to play together then Wig would have to become a much better 3 point shooter than he currently is.

Dieng can't play next to anybody until he remembers how to play defense
this gonna be this generations Duncan vs Garnett and we know who won that battle..Nah, I think KG is the perfect player for him to learn under considering his game and him being such an intelligent kid he'd be a problem in a short time. I also think he'd probably end up being the leader of that team in 2-3 years. The Wolves are a great place for him to go and I think he'd reach his potential with them.
Jahlil is more likely to reach his potential in LA than Towns, LA doesn't really have experience with a player like Towns, which at his core is a faceup 4. While the Wolves have the original tall/defensive faceup 4 on their squad right now.
