flip is gon be right about okafor being the better player, but towns is the better fit to be wiggins #2.
If he's the better player, he should take the better player. BUT, the reason why it wouldn't work is because Flip sucks at being able to fill out complimentary pieces to a team. Hell, he loves Porzingis too as a fit with Wiggins but I bet you'd disagree.

Guys like Towns and Wiggins are good because you don't have to try so hard to rework your lineup to make shyt work. Okafor is more rigid in that regard. Okafor would put them in a situation where they may have to pass up better players to have to take Cheick Diallo. Towns does not. Fit matters less then.

If you draft with the thought that a player may not be much more than a complimentary piece to someone you have at #1, you're devaluing the player and the pick.

Flip is cornered. This isn't his top choice, but anything else would be a "fukk you" to his whole staff. This is why the lottery and the draft are this far apart. Gave the team over a month to change his mind.

Back to Oubre real quick. Pat Riley has a type when he drafts. I'll explain more when I drop my final mock, but Beasley aside, Riley rarely fukks with young projects.

I don't see how his mind wouldn't be changed. Towns fits best with the core of rubio, lavine and wiggins.

I figured he wouldn't go top 10..but I was hoping someone like Phoenix would take him. But it's sounding like he may go late teens or some shyt now.

I posted in an earlier mock that he could fall. Never really had him higher than 15 to Atlanta and that may change as well.

not if the gap between the players is small. for example, I think Okafor will be a Demarcus Cousins type while Towns will be Chris Bosh. realistically that is the same level of player. thus, fit becomes important and doesn't diminsh value.

if Okafor is Duncan and Towns is Bosh, then it would diminishing value for fit.

I don't see that.

Put it this way:

If Atlanta does swap with Indiana, Oubre's a Hawk.

I think he's going to Atlanta anyway

Thanks for the info breh. Any news on a Bennett deal yet? I know you mentioned something about Vasquez a while ago.

Just saw a piece on Towns on ESPN...and :whew:

Someone in here said Rasheed Wallace as a comparison...I'm thinking a rich mans Rasheed.....Good lord, I will question my ability to spot talent if this kid flames out

KAT daddy is the truth...:ld:
He was just like that in high school when he was known as Karl Towns Jr. The dude was doing everything like a guard at Center size. He looked like a super versatile, maxed out Create-A-Player even then when these videos were new.

Hyped for the draft cause it's the last big event for the NBA for a while. Plus I want to see down the line who ends up looking bad for passing on Okafor or Towns at number one. Cause while I don't think neither player will be a bust one will end up a star while the other ends up as a very good player. It usually seems to work out like this most times.
