:francis: Am I the only one getting Evan Turner vibes form Russell? He is skilled, but he doesn't have elite speed or athleticism. Unless Russell is the next Curry that I ain't aware of, I would take my chances on Winslow, he is stronger, more athletic, better defensively, higher ceiling imo.

Honestly I don't see how he has a higher ceiling. His ceiling is iggy imo..Russell's ceiling is a mix of Steph/Manu.

I think there are Elite athletes, and then elite skillsets. Given his size and shooting ability, to have a wing-sized player with that kind of passing ability is a pretty elite set of skills. You're willing to take the risk on a more athletic, less polished player, under the auspices of "well they can always work on their game" -- but in the NBA that doesn't play out nearly as often as people hope.

Mario is a real risk, just off transition... and Winslow (or stanley, or outbre, or myles or any of these other Body-first prospects) lack HUGE swaths of skills. Like enormous holes in their games. If you're going to draft a guard or wing, I think it should be somebody that is offensively versatile, and can not only stretch the floor, but get the ball to people in position ONCE the floor is spaced. That's just me.

Also, @tremonthustler1 -- I see you showing love to Olivi-AYE :gladbron:... and I love it.
I understand that viewpoint - and I'm actually in favor of it outside of the top 3-5.

All the skills in the world don't mean shyt if you don't have the speed/size/explosion to create space against NBA defenders.

Hezonja definitely has a case for going higher than Russell. I wouldn't take Winslow over him, though.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Russell ain't an elite athlete :yeshrug:

I think that guys taken that high should at very least be the elite athletes. When you draft skill focused players that high, you end up with Adam Morrisons. :leostare:

He modeled his game after Manu, if you could draft a 19-20 year old Manu right now, would you take him in the top 5?

Russell is definitely not the athlete young Manu was but he has a quicker release on his shot:whoa:

Winslow is already a better offensive player than iggy was in his prime

Iguodala in his prime was giving you 20 a game, hitting 75% of his freethrows, shooting 34% or so from 3 and dishing 6 assists.

You think you're gonna get 20 and 6 with a true shooting % in the upper 50's from Winslow as a rook?

There are Olivier Hanlan Stans other than myself?

I'm scared for him, I think he might drop to the bottom of the 2nd or not get drafted.

He has the size/athleticism/skill combination ppl should be looking for, but I feel like he didn't develop much this year because of how bad BC was. He was forced to be a volume scoring guy. If he had a better situation I would have wanted him to go back for a year, but there was really nothing for him to go back to.
