29 point margin of victory = "almost got beat"????

:yeshrug: whatever helps u sleep.

all i gotta say is.....SEC SEC SEC!!! our unranked teams are better than the best the Pac 12 has to offer.
it was way closer than that when I was watching. And you would think with two top 5 classes and the way you cock gobble them thy would have had 60 the first half. You guys are going 5-7:smugfavre:

I like Hackenberg. The sad part is, he'll go from no O-line in college to no O-line in the pros if he doesn't drop from where he's projected. Penn St. is just sad & my friend just died who used to play for them. I wanted to root for them badly yesterday just because of that. Couldn't do it :snoop:

I was hard on Hack yesterday out of frustration, but in reality there are a lot of things wrong with PSU's offense. In order:
1) AWFUL unimaginative, vanilla, predictable play calling
2) no spacing or imagination in the route concepts. You are 6-7 deep with real talent at WR and nobody is ever open?
3) the line is TERRIBLE. It's tough to run imaginative plays or get guys open when you can get pressure with 2 or 3 rushers and drop 8-9 into coverage. So the shytty line just compounds issues 1 and 2
4) Hack is severely overrated. He has a big arm and can be relentless throwing downfield. Those are his strengths. If he was Baylor's QB he would look like the draft pick he is projected to be. But he sucks under pressure, has no touch on his underneath or intermediate throws, throws often into double or triple coverage (dating back to high school and even his freshman year under O'Brien) and struggles with throwing with accuracy consistently. One throw he can look like Marino and the next he's Jeff George. His high school tape will show you the same limitations, so it's not just a product of playing in a shytty offense with a shytty O line.

It's a tragedy that we can take this stable of wide receivers and running backs and puke out this on field product.

John Donovan (the OC) should have been left in Philly, for real. This team will be better off with anyone else designing the offense and calling the plays.

I advise people that are getting on the Josh Rosen bandwagon, remember Kenny Hill?
Horrible comparison. Rosen is a Kenny destroyed a SC secondary with big time playmakers like Speedy Noil in a fast tempo game. Josh tore apart a pretty solid UVA defense (which includes a couple 5-star recruits and many 4-stars) with average receivers.

Idk if you watch the game, but there were only two passes where he was off the mark. The rest fell on the receivers. His accuracy is insane, but I didn't even expect him to come out like this in his debut game. We'll see how he does as teams start to include more pass rush in their schemes and he deals with pressure, but he plays nothing like Kenny Hill.

I saw the TD pass he made where he made as good a pass a true freshman will make. Rosen is legit, I was talking about this Heisman hype he's getting from the media already.
