@Swagnificent you can't have it both ways. They had top 10 classes every year like you said, and they still weren't shyt. Florida didn't have that type of talent other than a select few of players yet had a better defense over that span. Texas A&M wasn't getting that type of talent yet were better offensively over that span. LSU is just fukking bad coaching wise. And that staff is still there. They haven't had an elite team (top 10) since 2011, otherwise known as before the SEC had amazing offenses left and right. When I say LSU's defense isn't going to be comparable to that year ever again, it's because the SEC has evolved. LSU is NOT going to be able to depend on that old man style of ball anymore. And if they really want a SEC Championship, Harris might have to be a little more than a game manager, which unless he's evolved, I don't think he's capable of being. All I KNOW is that LSU hasn't had a cohesive team (good enough for championship fame) in a good ass while, and this hype y'all delivering ain't to different than 2013 when they ended up playing fukking Iowa.
2012-2014
LSU: 28-11, 0 SEC titles, 0 division titles, apparently 3 top 10 recruiting classes
Auburn: 23-17, 1 SEC title, 1 division title, 2 top 10 classes
Alabama: not really necessary, 2 SEC titles, 2 division titles, again not necessary class wise
Texas A&M: 28-11, 0 SEC titles, 0 division titles, 3 top 10 recruiting classes
So LSU has less national success than Auburn or Alabama, is at the same level as TAMU (who hasn't been in a SEC title yet) and is 1-2 in that span in bowl games (their sole win being over Iowa)
These are just stats, they're really neither here nor there because you know LSU has really been the 3rd best team in the division over that time. Which isn't bad if you weren't getting as good recruits as almost anyone. That level of mediocrity shouldn't fly this year, and Les deserves the hot seat if they aren't at least 2nd in the division.
