Sarkisian says freshman quarterback Ricky Town inconsistent

Ricky Town is up and down," Trojans coach Steve Sarkisian said Saturday. "That's understandable for a quarterback his first time playing college football.

"He does some things and you go, 'Wow, that's a really good read or really good play' and then he makes another throw and you think to yourself, 'What are you thinking?' And then you go, 'Well I know what he's thinking. He wasn't. He didn't know what he's doing. He's a true freshman.'"

Town is unable to comment because USC has not allowed him to speak to the media.

Sarkisian said freshman Jalen Greene showed improvement during the week.

I think he has improved immensely," Sarkisian said. "The first two weeks I thought Jalen was doing OK. Today he performed really, really well. He thew a couple touchdown passes and is having fun playing football, which is important. It's difficult when you're a redshirt freshman quarterback."

USC offers Fink
Glendora High quarterback Matt Fink was offered a scholarship after practice. The offer comes after Santa Margarita quarterback KJ Costello committed to Stanford on Thursday. USC appears intent on signing a quarterback from the Class of 2016 despite have two true freshmen next season (Town, Sam Darnold) and losing only Cody Kessler.

They squeezed him out the program after a couple months. That's some saban / buckeye shyt right there.
