If the SEC is going to regain its seat on the college football throne, Auburn is the team that has the pieces in place to get there. If Alabama finds a bus driver at quarterback, they'll be a legitimate contender, Ole Miss has pieced together a similar roster in Oxford, Tennessee is on the rise in the East with Georgia just a quarterback away from legitimate national title talk as well. The SEC is going to be loaded once again but if you're looking for a national championship profile, it's Auburn.

I saw Jeremy Johnson lead his team to a Hoover 7on7 championship as a rising sophomore. I watched him dismantle a Tri-Cities team out of Georgia with five passing touchdowns and over 330 yards passing. I watched the poise and composure he showed all week at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that culminated in a 4th and 16 touchdown throw that proved to be the game-winner. He's got all the size you could want, he's athletic but remains a pass-first guy and he's shown up big in clutch moments throughout his career. Jeremy Johnson will be the best quarterback in the SEC this fall and that includes last year's Heisman hopeful Dak Prescott.
Quarterbacks are central to making a championship run. That much is obvious. If Johnson can sniff my expectations, Auburn will be in great shape offensively with Gus Malzahn, Duke Williams and a deep running back stable by his side. But defensively, the Tigers may be in an even better position.
I was texting with a member of an NFL front office last week, asking who some of the top prospects in college football will be this fall. His answer: "Auburn's entire front".
