Damn! Auburn really about to drop $1.3 milli on our D coordinator? I mean he has a nice resume but that's a lil much for somebody with his coaching stature.

From AU 247
All signs point toCharles Kellybeing named Auburn’s defensive coordinator, perhaps as early as today. Though there is no final confirmation, numerous sources say that’s where Auburn’s search for a replacement forWill Muschampis headed.

Kelly, an Auburn defensive back from 1986-89, is in his third season at Florida State and second as defensive coordinator.

Kelly, a graduate assistant on Auburn’s 11-0 1993 team, moved to Florida State after seven years as a special teams and defensive backs coach at Georgia Tech. He was elevated to interim defensive coordinator in the sixth game of the 2012 season when the Yellow Jackets had a 2-4 record. After taking over as defensive coordinator, Kelly helped Georgia Tech go 5-3, including a Hyundai Sun Bowl victory over USC. Kelly’s defense limited the high-powered Trojan offense to 205 yards and seven points in the bowl win.

It is uncertain if a final agreement has been reached, but if Kelly takes the job, he is expected to be among the most highly paid defensive coordinators in college football.

Heard he turned down the 1st offer and said he's comfortable at FSU and money wasn't the issue. So they came back with a blank check.

Was 50/50 on Kelly. If he goes, he goes :manny: I say we go for Geoff Collins. I think we were close to getting him before we got Pruitt (who I wouldn't mind back). The Wisky d-coordinator should give us a holla. Maybe even Wommack at Ole Piss. As long as they don't try for a Lorenzo Ward or Justin Wilcox then I'm good. Or just bump Lawing up to d-coordinator

That sounds about right to have to deal with that mess of a defense. :whew:

He might not ever get a job with a top program again after they get done with him.So get as much as you can now.
I would stay at FSU and continue to produce Top Defenses until the Auburn's HC job comes open.
