I think I'm a good judge of talent. And Dobbs is the most talented QB I've seen in college since Cam Newton and Vince Young. I agree this seems over the top based on his production so far in his career but I think he's set to blow up next year.

You guys can make fun of my preseason prediction that Tennessee would win the natty this year. I'll readily admit that was more hope than outright conviction.

What I was convinced about though during the preseason was this was a really good football team. Better than most people thought and filled with tons of future pros. 8-4 might not be the best record. But if anyone has watched them play and seen them compete, then you'll know these guys are pretty good. They have Alabama and Oklahoma all they could handle and most people think those are the two best teams in the country right now.

18 returning starters next year. Losing no one of significance. The 4 seniors we played are getting replaced by more talented players. Tennessee is gonna be a problem next year. And any talented QB of a potential playoff team will get heisman hype. See Deshuan Watson and Baker Mayfield.
He not anywhere near as good as Griffin or D. Watson. :camby:

Is that even that much of a stepup?

I know the talent in va but it's not like they get most if it
Since Stanford got good, they seem to get that NOVA talent that used to be a lock for UVA. Add to the fact that they don't recruit the Tidewater area like they use to and you have meh team. They were such a good recruiting team under Groh. A lot of their issues is the talent in VA dropping like a mug and the talent like Hand going to the SEC.

They would be stupid to fire him. They talent that's available to them compared to UGA is night and day different. The state of GA is right there is TX and FL in terms of HS talent. OK isn't that strong of a HS football state. You got Jenks but that's one school, damn near most small towns in GA got at least one really good football player.

Oklahoma HS football is terribly underrated. Yeah, Jenks is dominating the OK HS football scene now and producing most the college talent, but there are otner schools that produce their share of quality players. Tulsa Union (Jenks rival) puts out decent talent still and Owasso is another name in NWOK that has quality football. We know its quality because Nick Saban, Les Miles and Brent Veneables(to name a few) come from their respective areas in SEC/ACC country for our players.

Mike Gundy actually does a better job than the Stoops Brothers mining and finding untapped Oklahoma talent. OU fans are still dumbfounded the out of state offers that usually wash out or can't adapt to college life in Oklahoma, but the Stoops' brothers SLOW PLAY in-state to the point where they get jaded, so they either go to OSU or leave Oklahoma altogether (ending up at an SEC school).

But, yeah... Gundy ain't going anywhere. I can't say I blame him.... (but others will)
