@Trust Me outlook on the Penn State game fam
@
HNIC973 is right. It's a down year for Penn State D, which is weird. Problem is .. its a down year for Akron and Connecticut too .. and we saw how shytty we played against them.
You never know which Gardner is gonna show up, and that's a bad thing. A REALLY bad thing. If there's one thing that you'd like to have on the constant, it's consistent QB play.. and obviously, we haven't had that.
Gardner
managed the Minnesota game well, but despite what anyone else is saying, I don't think he had a very good game. Like I said in the game thread, the receivers bailed him out all game long. He also missed on
A LOT of easy throws that should have been completed. On top of that.. Minny's run D is straight
status. Penn State can stop the run when they want to, but they're giving up a lot through the air. It scares me to put the game in Gardner's hands. On top of that .. it's a 'night game' (5pm start) in Happy Valley and it's gonna be a white out. If these dudes got shook in Connecticut, how you think they're gonna react to playing in
this environment? Remember, we're still young as hell.
Lastly, Penn State can run the ball, but that can throw it too. I think we can contain their rushing attack, but I'm worried about
anyones passing game against us. Mattison's proved that he doesn't trust our corners to press receivers, so the dink and dunk can be there all day long. And State's QB is a freshman that will take that all day long. I actually think he's gonna be DAMN good. (Christian Hackenberg) When our corners
do come in close, our safeties are slow as hell recovering. Its a damn if we do, damn if we dont.
Prediction?
