That 2011 Michigan season looking more fraudulent by the day.
It was, but nobody wants to admit it. They had a cupcake schedule and their Sugar Bowl "win" was about Va Tech giving the game away. They played TERRIBLE in that game.

Anybody talking about Shane starting next year is off, dude is John Navarre/Elvis Gerbac status, same mold, he's not ready, yes dude has a strong arm but when I saw him play at De La Salle I wasn't extremely impressed, Michigan is still living in the 90s/early 2000s, this crap on the field will not get it done, losing to K State in a down year for them is not what's up. Michigan's best bet is to stick with Devin and give Shane more time on the bench, get a new O Coordinator and see what happens, but 9-3 is not acceptable unless they beat either MSU or Ohio.

If you really saw Shane play at DLS then you would know he never had time to throw. Even dudes highlight tapes were strictly made up of roll outs cause he had no time to throw. Also, he had no receivers. He made his name in the camp circuit where dudes could actually catch the balls he threw. I'm not sure what he needs to do to impress you, but the kid is a true freshman, and played damn well today. He had a few big drops, and Borges held him back for the first 3 and a half quarters of the game.

Is Devin more talented than Shane right now? Probably.. (definitely more athletic) .. but if you wanna move on to a pro style offense, then you make the move and take your lumps. Devin's not a pro style QB. As bad as our OLine was this year, I dont even fully put the blame on them. Devin does NOTHING to help them out. They give him a pocket, and he never steps into it. He runs early instead of progressing through his reads. When he feels the slightest of pressure, he throws the ball up for grabs. This isnt some young cat. This guy has already graduated and received his degree and will be a 5th year senior next year. How much more 'growing up' does he need to do?

Devin's got Anquan Bolden written all over him. He needs to make the move to wideout and stick with it.

He had protection in high school, a lot of the plays were designed roll outs when you would see linemen get through, whenever he stood in the pocket, he had time, De La Salle is a good high school football program, they have decent talent, now the only time you ever will (they may actually close) and ever have heard of Inkster High was when Devin was playing and you want to talk about no protection, he lived with the other team in the backfield (probably caused his habit of panicking in the pocket), he was compared to Vince Young coming out but he HAD to play like VY, he had no protection, absolutely none. What do you think Shane becomes? Chad Henne? Navarre? He's slightly more athletic than those guys but we've seen this story before and it won't work today, yeah it worked 7 years ago, but the game changed very fast and that style doesn't work the same anymore (at least if you can't get same kind of talent that the southern schools get, and let's not get caught up with the recruiting rankings, its very very flawed). I was probably one of the few people that thought Michigan should have keep Rich Rod, he was getting better each year (record wise) and he was starting to get his players here (hence the BCS after he left), we see what he is doing at Arizona. Do I think Devin is great, no, but he is probably the better option and Shane will get two years still, he won't necessarily grow up but he will have more talent around him (at the skill positions) next year but my issue for next year in terms of Shane is the O line, the protection will probably be worse next year and being the less athletic QB it may make sense to just let Devin finish it out. I don't know how you can compare Devin as a WR to a guy with possibly top 5 hands EVER, there speed comparison fine but everything else NO.
