I just can't see kidd gilchrist going before drummond...too much potential

imo, drummond not producing right away is a benefit....its kinda like the ricky rubio affect

rubio didn't come to minny right away, which enabled them to suck enough to draft derrick williams later on. toronto lucked out like that with jonaas

if whoever drafts drummond brings him along slowly, they can be right back in the running for the #1 pick again next year

if oden got drafted above durant, how does mkg go ahead of drummond?

Us drafting Flynn enabled them to suck right away. :pacspit:

With Drummond it just depends on how long you have to wait. Guys like Rubio and Valanciunas have and might pay off, but that wait hurts if you're a fan. It's easier to wait when they're 2nd rounders and the ceiling is lower.

Whoever gets Drummond is gonna wanna use him a lot early on just because options are few. He's perfect for a team like New Orleans who can afford to let him develop slowly while Okafor is there and they still have Eric Gordon + another pick unless they get Anthony Davis (and that possibility is scary)

MKG has a high ceiling as well. He fits like a glove for so many teams and he can fill up a stat sheet, and just like at Kentucky, he looks like someone who will always be in the middle of a clutch play.

BTW, the workouts at Jersey were today. Damn near every GM was there scouting a bunch of 2nd rounders and UDFA's.

Renardo Sidney measured 304 pounds with 22.35% body fat percentage, by far the most here. Actually looks like he's slimmed down #NetsCombine

Monty Williams on the 2012 NBA Draft:

Although next month’s NBA draft is considered to be deep with talent, New Orleans Hornets Coach Monty Williams disagrees. With two lottery picks, the Hornets are slotted fourth and 10th in the May 30 draft lottery and have a 13.7 percent chance of landing the top pick.

"I don’t see this deep draft everybody is talking about,’’ Williams said. "I think there are a few players at the top that are really good that can be good players. But I don’t see any Carmelos or LeBrons.’’

Kentucky power forward Anthony Davis is considered to be the best available player and is expected to be the No. 1 pick.

Most mock drafts have Davis, Kansas’ Thomas Robinson, Connecticut’s Andre Drummond, Kentucky’s Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes and Florida’s Bradley Beal are considered to be the top six players available.

"I don’t think you’re going to find a (Manu) Ginobili at 52,’’ Williams said. "The last few weeks I’ve had a chance to look at all these young guys on tape and I’m not jaded by the hoopla as everybody else is. I think there are good players, but I don’t see this deep draft.’’

wasn't Barnes, Marshall, or Lamb supposed to be potential number one picks or go very high from last year's 2012 draft talk?

no sir, great athlete no real skill or b-ball knowledge might end up beng better, but he is basically a clone of jordan

Jordan also had the issue of not being coachable, because remember, DeAndre was supposed to be a top 10 lock and fell to round 2. Drummond just seems like a raw product in a messed up environment.

:rudy:

No, he's raw offensively, the issues with him is that he wants to be a PF but his size is more in line with centers. He needs to go to a team that has a PG, and possibly another big to play with, if Deron Williams stays in Jersey the Nets would be ideal, as would the Cavs.

He's taken and made jumpers, turn arounds and 15 footers, have you ever seen Jordan take a shot from more than 5 feet from the rim?
