I as a gm couldnt take him in the top 5 not in a draft where there are guys who are gonna be good starters... plus are winners and good teammates

I think Barnes is gettin an awful wrap... just cause unc hate plus unc fans over-rating their team by a little bit... He is gonna be a good investment

drummond/pj3 are the big gambles that if you make in the top 5 you might get fired and worse your franchise might not recover for a long time

think if memphis doesnt draft thabeet

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
you seen him shoot free throws... He has 0 court awareness... U conn folks were saying he wasnt a great worker

he has a higher ceiling , but right now i see him following Jordan's career so far

Fam, the bar for freshmen big men and their numbers/performance is unrealistic as hell nowadays, his season was labeled a disappointment, but his numbers fall within the range of what Shaq, Duncan, Patrick, Hakeem etc did as freshmen.

He's still only 18, he's more athletic than Davis, he's younger and stronger than him, and their skillsets really aren't that far off.

This is DeAndre in HS

This is Drummond in HS

Drummond HAS a skillset, it's just not quite what you want from a Center, and he could end up being a PF in the long run. DeAndre literally has no real skill, even @ Uconn Drummond showed flashes of his outside game at times.

I know your one of the smartest bball posters on here so i respect your opinion... i just see the tools, but no knowledge with Drummond... saw a lot of him this year and think he has a long way to go

we'll see... i just hope the rumors of him not being into bball false cause he has elite athleticism/size/strength

think if memphis doesnt draft thabeet

I'd hate to think of that.

If Memphis doesn't draft Thabeet, my team would have, and we would have had Thabeet and Flynn. I think I would have jumped in front of a train.

St. Bonaventure's Andrew Nicholson works out for Boston and OKC this week. OKC's long been on him, but C's looking hard w/ 21st-22nd picks.

There's no contest between drummond and deandre Jordan. Drummonds prolly gonna go 2nd

Don't forget he only played 3 years of high school ball.

Look st guys like mcgee, ibaka and deandre Jordan. Look at the contracts they get....its because big men who aren't stiffs are so rare. It's hard to get a drummond in free agency.

where do you guys see Fab Melo going and how well he will do in the pros? I don't really see much of a difference between him and Sullinger, but Sull is seen as a top 10 pick. They have him at late first round pick, but do you think any team would attempt to take him in the top 15?

Meaning will Fab Melo go lotto? No. Not unless he dazzles at combine workouts over Meyers Leonard. Top 20 is not impossible, but it's still to be determined.

I think if Rivers gets to go somewhere where he will be eased into a role he could be really good by his 2nd or 3rd year.

Hes an undersized 2guasrd whos not that athletic..His only above average skill he showed in college was getting to the rim..

Dudes a mediocre prospect

I think he can be decent and be like a Lou Williams for a team..But maybe I'm giving him too much credit

I dont think hes nearly as fast as Lou Williams..but as far as upside then its probably comaprable..best case scenario for him if everything breaks right is scorer off the bench

Depends how tall he really is and how big he can get. He's only like 19 right. Some people list him as 6'3 maybe 6'4? One thing for sure is he has the confidence and work ethic.

Also everyone talks about him being good at getting to the basket but I remember him being more of a shooter in HS. Now if he develops both aspects of his game to his potential then he'll be a real good scorer kinda like a steph curry type

But athleticism is his downside....

Uncertain grounds
Drummond was a bust at UCONN. Didn't show the skillset he showed in high school. Some blame the coaching staff for this. He was pretty good crashing the boards, and has a lot of athleticism, but does not have the traditional game of an NBA center. That said, the trend in the NBA is to start playing a bit small, so maybe, in the end, he will be able to fit into a modernized offense and be a cog in it.

His intelligence is definitely below average and as a previous poster said, he was AWFUL at the free throw line. Most people in Connecticut were disappointed with him throughout the past season, but generally give him credit for being a freshman and having to compete in a difficult circumstance (defending champions without Kemba, no Calhoun for extended time etc).

At the end of the day, he should be a top 5 pick. Good workouts might bring him into the 2 slot, but, coming from someone who lives in CT and watched him a great deal, he has high bust potential.
