Seriously, I get why some fans are pissed. To start the season on Nat'l TV like that is maddening, DMC catching the ball 12 times is overkill.

But it also is a testament to the lack of skill position players this team truly has. DHB still appears he hasn't worked much on the craft of route running. Also, Knapp's offense worked great at Houston, but he had an OLine who have been together some time, as well as Andre Johnson and more capable TE's.

Myers is a disappointment and obviously a clear indication that the FA TE market was not high on the Raiders positions to fill with the beautiful salary cap room that Hue and Al left behind.

It's easy to blame Knapp and Carson, but ultimately, the lack of talent on this team is solely to blame on Al Davis. The lack of talent at QB is solely to blame on Hue Jackson. The lack of first rounds picks.... you get the drift.

6 penalties, not going to help. They need to cut that down in half.

Replacement Refs - also botched the end of the game. Raiders should have had 1 more play since the game ended on a punt with the kicking team touching the ball last.

We have to take care of business in Miami otherwise kiss the season goodbye.

I don't know what to make of the game last night. Honestly the O and D didn't play that bad, but the whole punting fiasco just seemed to take the energy right out the stadium. I think we were down 10-6 at the first botched snap, if everything had gone well and we reverse the field position with that punt who knows what happens. But we need at least Moore back, all the check downs were killing me.

I would have liked to see them go for it on 4th and 1 but the last time they did that (against Lions in preseason), McFadden had 1st and Goal on the 1 and it took him 4 downs to get in. Not to mention he fumbled it on the 4th try and recovered it for the TD.

The OLine needs more time to gel or they need different talent. If Wiz is getting pushed by Parson for the Starting C position, it appears the Raiders drafted Wiz due to nepotism

Yeah, I think we're all in agreement that hiring Knapp a second time was fukkin stupid. Al Saunders shoulda been the Oc unless he didn't want to take on that type of load, but continuing what we were doing last year shoulda been a priority not completely obliterating the offense and rebuilding it for the millionth time.

LOL, I don't think Palmer likes DHB too much.

McClain Controls the Middle

Middle linebacker Rolando McClain really came to play against the Chargers. He had perhaps the most dominant performance against the run of any linebacker in Week 1, even though the stat sheet reads just four stops. McClain made five tackles at or around the line of scrimmage and was equally adept shedding blocks and finding the ball carrier in traffic. He also generated a (joint) team-leading two QB hurries on just six rushes, and timed his blitzes well. The Alabama alum has a poor track record in coverage, so it is somewhat of a surprise that the Chargers didn’t look to test him more there. He was targeted only once, tackling Ronnie Brown for a 4-yard gain, and seemed to blanket receivers underneath.
