He tried to rape lori, gave 0 fukks about his immediate crew, and tried twice to kill his best friend. He was filth. It was only a matter time before he went full governor and slaughtered his entire crew. Shane may have knew the tools to the trade but he was heading towards the deep end.
But Lori did play them dudes against each other. She was still droppin hints one second, then telling him it's over, then begging him to stay. When he tried to kill Rick at the end, he was suicidal.
After Shane was gone, Lori started looking at Rick like he couldn't protect them.
1st of all fukk LORI.... that bytch is to BLAME in all of this. 2nd of all, BOTH... and I say again, BOTH wanted to kill each other. Shane just was hesitant because of the fact it was still his BEST FRIEND. Even the night Shane was killed, he could of just MURKED Rick without no convo about it or nothing. But he WAVERED and was about to relent when Rick was yapping that bullshyt about letting this thing be squashed and shyt, and it was RICK on some SLICK ASS BULLshyt that gutted him. So, Rick JUST AS MUCH was wanting to kill Shane, and did not HESITATE. He played Shane and took that chance.
Lastly, virtually the whole crew of the ORIGINAL group was slaughtered due to Rick's incompetence. It was the reason why by end season THREE he wasn't THE LEADER. ALL of them would of been dead... ALL OF THEM had it not been for SHANE waking their eyes up and schooling them about the reality of it all.

Shane wanted to leave Merle to die and even called him garbage, when Rick went back to save him. Also, Rick is now “brothers” with the former racist Daryl. So you can fukk up with that bullshyt you made up.That was his wife.Shane was so emotionally distraught over a girl that wasn't his that he tried to rape her and throw his main main in the bushes over her. He deserved several shells for still trying to play dad when Rick came back.
Six seasons later and Rick has brought them through way more bullshyt than Shane ever had to deal with. Shane would have gotten killed and his squad wiped by the Governor over vagina.
Shane also let a racist run his squad too. Rick wasn't having that shyt.
