There are exceptions but the average family can afford to save for college...they have 18 years. I see toddlers rocking jordans and polo and that money could be put in a 529. It's a sacrifice but when you have children that you want to be college educated you make sacrifices.

Even if parents aren't saving promoting academics from the jump and searching for scholarships once the child hits middle school, helps as well.

Toddler Js are 20 dollar. Using that to prove someone save for college no matter what their income is proves you have no idea what you are talking about.

My parents paid for school. I'm not ashamed to admit it. No debt for me. Call me whatever.

I call you out of touch if you think this is anywhere near the norm.

The average normal state college tuition is $4,000-$10,000 a semester. Most scholarships are not even that much.

Umm you can have more than one scholarship. Lol And you can also cash flow community college pretty easily. Again its a sacrifice. I'm not using a stereotype but I'm saying that money used for things that aren't a necessity can be redirected to college savings.

I'm not knocking anyone who takes out loans but to say its the only way to be able to go to college is not true.

Most college grads go to 2-years community college then go to a 4-years university to finish their major.

It still take a lot of money after leaving a community college dumbass. There are a lot of degrees that community college don't offer.
