So y’all telling me the key is to let people ride for free… fare jumping is like the broken window theory. Without rules and consequences u will have anarchy.

Just like when they stop arresting people for petty shoplifting because it wasn’t worth it, now u got people just casually taking shyt from the stores in bags.
Broken Windows theory is horseshyt.

fukk them studies,,,have you ever been anywhere in the world that was tough on crime, you think Indonesia got alot of open drug users..?

Or look at El Salvador and the murder rate, when u got a story police presence crime is deterred.

You see how man brazen robberies in brood daylight is committed now compared to the couple years before shoplifting got decriminalized. People used to hide when they shoplift now they take whole racks at a time. Brazen lawlessness only increase lawlessness.

What's the saying your people like to abuse? Oh right, "facts don't care about your feelings." Harsh punishment isn't a good deterrent to preventing crime.

Folks like this is why I’ve given up trying to argue with these morons. All the data in the world shows there are better ways to handle this but they just pretend it doesn’t matter. The dumbest fukking humans :francis:

Is that how it is out in Europe?

Well that’s how it should be NYPD and MTA greasing their pockets and over criminalizing the poor.

The concept of paying for public transportation doesn’t even make sense. City taxes should handle that for all citizens. I’d be willing to pay more taxes to make that a reality.

Nobody wants to pay the taxes that it would take for it to be free.

New York City
:laff:

Free buses for the whole city is estimated at 652 million a year. And that is just the buses!
I could be reading it wrong, but I think they meant all NYC busses would be $652 million a year. The reporter wrote the sentence weirdly so I can’t say 100%.

Also, I got to agree Adam’s is looking like a one term mayor. He’s running out of time to do something he can actually run on for re-election. Giuliani saw record drop on crime that was likely due to a national downward trend in crime and made Timesquare a family centric place. Bloomberg had rebuilding after 9/11, that included Barclay’s. De Blasio had 3k and the end of stop and frisk. Right now Adam’s has budget cuts, corruption charges, and kickback to the cops.

He better do something or he’s out. Cuomo is circling around, the fact he vetoed that bill to track cops interaction with the public has the people to his left buzzing. He keeps making the wrong moves if he wanted an easy re-election.

This fukkin culture in politics to suck the PD’s dikk is sick to me. Raising there budgets to assisnine figures for the most minimal results.

Shouldnt be surprising since they are just tools to protect the fiscally and powerful elite.

But its ridiculous how nyc mismanages money. Its an art. And this current tool is something out of a snl skit.

Show me where it works then, show me a place where crime letting people get away with crime is productive to society.

You want to live in a utopia but it ain’t like that.
