It was good but too many loose ends for my taste. I get that some things were left to interpretation but ot wouldn't have taken much to give some payoff for some of the things introduced that were never addressed.
I thought it was a really good watch and Rebecca Hall carried this hard. It flew under the radar after Candyman and Malignant dropped sadly and isn’t getting the attention it deserves.
Horror films that dive deep into the exploration of grief probably affect me the most out of all the sub-genres. It’s real, and there were some moments that tugged on the heartstrings when I watched this. The sense of dread and overall atmosphere felt accomplished here because I was dreading sundown all throughout the film.
I still need to watch Saint Maud, but this was definitely one of the better crafted horror films this year.
