thats the point, im not watching the game.

I didnt watch last week's game either. Why are these games on TV if no one wants to watch it?

It also cheapens the product because these teams are not playing in their usual routine. A player could be healthy for Sunday, but cant play because their team is playing on Thursday.

You not watching does not mean no one is watching. :shaq2:

no shyt? :leon:

the point im making is that it cheapens the product and is bad for player safety.

there is a good business reason for these games, and good for fans, but its not good for the players and the actual product.

What made football good back in the day was the gap between Mon night football and Sunday games. The longer you went without football the better it seemed. There would be only a few Thurs games (outside of obvious Turkey Day games). The good games this year (Saints-Falcons) is gonna get good ratings and might be entertaining. Games like tonight and possibly Eagles-Bengals (Dec.13) wont get watched.Remember everybody's entertainment value differs. Some may found Seahawks-Niners entertaining, some may not.But NFL is definetely over saturating the games.Thurs night is the NBA's night IMO :manny:

It doesn't cheapen the product... people want to see the NFL, and are watching.

It's not bad for safety either. Nobody has presented any evidence suggesting that playing one Thursday night game a year has any effect of player safety. Dallas and Detroit have been doing this for decades...show me evidence that there players have been injured at a higher rate than other franchises.

Your just on a soap box preaching away...

You do realize because of the shortened week players have less time to recover from their Sunday games? Also, because of the shortened week players and coaches have less time to analyze game film and develop game plans. It's the perfect storm for upsets.

So the fukk what? It's once a year and, I already pointed out, we have empirical evidence from two teams who have done it for decades. Plus, pointing out the short rest before the game while ignoring the extended rest after the game is intellectually dishonest.

If you're a football fan it's a good thing. Yes Jags vs Colts is a shyt matchup, but last Thursday was Luck's first nationally televised game since he was back at Stanford. As fans we get to watch games with teams/players we don't normally get to see.

:beli: the fact you think 6.25% of the league (2 teams) counts as "empirical evidence"

They've been doing it for DECADES. You have absolutely nothing to back up your claims, yet you're gonna throw the experiences of the two franchises who've been doing it out the window:dead:

And it is empirical evidence, a small sample size doesn't preclude it from being so.

These games will continue to be bad no matter what teams play.

Players are still banged up and worn out from Sundays game, coaches have minimal time to gameplan/scout etc..

Who the fukk cares about the Dolphins or Bills?

Two teams that need to be contracted.

NFL is too busy forcing these terrible teams on its fans. And having terrible match ups in primetime only "cheapens" the product as someone else said.
