I'll probably check this out again when OG Triple OG shows up as Will's bodyguard/life coach:
Terry Crews -- The Newsroom Season 1 - TVLine
HBO’s just-renewed Newsroom is expanding its already massive cast with the addition of Everybody Hates Chris alum Terry Crews.
Per EW.com, the Are We There Yet? actor has landed a recurring role on the freshman drama, playing bodyguard — and unofficial life coach — to Jeff Daniels’ Will McAvoy.
Look for Crews, who will appear in five episodes, to join The Newsroom in Episode 6 (airing July 29).

The scene with Fonda and drunk Charlie was great. But that was pretty much the only entertaining scene of the episode. It was like a two hour op-ed on the Tea Party.

The problem with an episode fast-forwarding through the entire election cycle (about 6 months) is that it steps over a lot of the character developments and subplots that might've made the show more interesting: McAvoy trying to be nicer to his staff, panic attack girl trying to get better at her job, Sloan adjusting to being on News Night, Mac not obsessing over Will still. We're still left with the fukking love triangle, but I couldn't care less about the fukking love triangle.

I actually agree with most of what Will was saying about the Tea Party, but it still felt too much like a lecture. It'd be like Bunny Colvin on the Wire lecturing about how the War on Drugs has destroyed inner-city communities and endangered the lives of millions of potentially productive citizens, instead of giving the great paper bag speech.

Watched the first ten minutes of the second episode and I was out

Excessive, unnecessary dialogue is an understatement and the send-all e-mail thing was a joke.

I'm so caught between emotions with this show. As much as I respect Sorken's writing, it all becomes a bit much when everybody has quick witty retort in each conversation. And as much as I want to love the Jane Fonda scene, that shyt was contrived and set up from the start. Of course she opens up with some ambiguous joke/monologue about Jesus and Moses playing golf with some shytty punchline, then argues for 5 minuets to only use the same punchline as she exits. Like that would be the closing remark on a heated debate like that? If she was really a boss she would just tell dude to go fukk himself and to change the show back because she runs a business not an informative soup kitchen...

But I'm still entertained and I'll continue watching because Breaking Bad isn't back yet

At least this week was better than the awful shyt they gave us last week.

Don't think I'll keep watching once Breaking Bad comes back though.

I liked this episode. The drama between the blond chick and the other dude was bearable, and the scenes with Will and his dates and Mackenzie were kinda funny and well done. That Tea Party and YIP comparison was cool. I hadnt thought of that.

Charlie killed it in that boardroom scene.

BIG improvement from the last ep

Liked that episode a lot more. But Mackenzie is just annoying as hell to me. And I thought she was gonna be one of the highlights for this show :weirdo:
