the irony, when all you do is deflect and post smileys when you cant counter an argument:mjlol: you go ahead and cook though peasant.

Ironic when I'm the only person here discussing the argument at hand when everyone else is name calling.

I agree. Past 2 kids, poor ppl should be sterilized. :yeshrug: . This goes for black, white, Hispanic, Asian whatever. I'm tired of seeing women with 5 kids in tow, yet can't control nary a one of them and milking that assistance cause Papa(s) not around. The world is overpopulated as it is and they're only making it worse. What do y'all think is gonna happen 50 years from now when the there are 3 times as many ppl all competing for the same limited resources?

More abortions is a terrible solution just like throwing more money at a failing business is a terrible idea. At some we've gotta admit that it's time restructure the business model.

Abortions are for when contraceptives and other birth control fail obviously. More funding for programs such as planned parenthood is the way. Also as others have mentioned forced sterilization has been tried on more than one occasion and has failed/ been abused every time.

I'm asking for realistic solutions or alternatives to what I've suggested, "maybe the government should stop being racist" is not realistic.

That's why I suggested voluntary sterilization and anyone who opts out and has more than one child they can't afford should be denied any extra benefits they'd traditionally receive for an additional child.

These arguments I'm seeing from people who oppose @Matt504's suggestions remind me of the pro-life people. They don't care about what happens to the life once it gets here, but just want people to keep having children. Even people whose socioeconomic status is at the detriment to the life they produce. High birth rates in low income environments need to be regulated!

Oh I missed that.:yeshrug: That sounds a little more reasonable.

Out of curiosity. How old do you think people should be to opt in for sterilization? If under 18 should they have parental consent? What happens to people who opt out or too young to opt in who are victims of rape/incest?

I believe it's by design, I've been saying this for as long as I've been a member here, with that being said, the problem still exists, children are being birthed into poverty and the entire family suffers and it leads to people making poor decisions because "I can't allow my family to go to sleep without eating".

This isn't about hating poor people, it's about realistic solutions to problems that plague poor people, having more babies is not a solution, accident babies are not a solution, having a child while living in poverty and the father does nothing to support that child while he's off making even more children is not a solution, all of these problems can be nipped in the bud if the male had a reversible vasectomy and couldn't lay his eggs all over town creating babies he can't afford, the woman can have her tubes tied so she can't birth children until she's in a better financial situation and has planned for it.

I do hate the capitalist system, but we live in it and if we're not destroying the system the alternative is to change things we do have control over like whether or not we birth new children into poverty.

Cases of pregnancy with rape/incest are good candidates for abortion, under 18 is eligible assuming they are developed enough to have these procedures, anyone who opts out can have one child and receive government benefits, if that person has an additional child and opted out, they would not receive additional benefits for the additional child. People would be given the option to opt in at any given time, especially when the parent applies for government benefits, if they opt out while signing up for benefits, they'll be informed that they won't receive benefits for any additional children they have outside of the first.
