Could've sworn I just read an interview with Statham a few weeks back where he said he wasn't a fan of comic book shyt. But I guess if the check's big enough, anything works.

A lot of the modern sort of action movies I see, you know, Marvel comic sort of things, I just think, any guy can do it. I have no ambition. I mean, I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and then put her in a green screen, and then have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it. I mean, they’re relying on stunt doubles, and green screen, and $200 million budget, it’s all CGI-created. So to me, that is not authentic. I’m inspired by old, real star guys that can really do it.

Apparently Furious 7 was all real :russ:

Just finished the season. I give it 9/10 I liked Vincent D'Onofrio Kingpin when he slammed dudes head to mush with that car door :lupe:

I kept trying to place dude who plays Daredevil and figured out it was Owen from Boardwalk Empire :heh:

I like the grittiness of it and surprisingly none of the characters got on my nerves.

They should use The Daredevil vs Punisher storyline for season 2, it was right after Kingpin got thrown in Jail and the void he left caused Punisher and a bunch of villains to come out.

Jason Statham Drops Out Of DAREDEVIL Negotiations After News Of His Involvement Leaked

Rumours are great and all, but there's a serious downside to them when it comes to casting in particular. Yesterday, Latino-Review revealed that Jason Statham was in talks to play Bullseye in season two of Daredevil, news which was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. According to Bloody Disgusting, the British actor "was legitimately in heavy negotiations for the role and the leak killed it. Perhaps his agent saw the positive uproar and instantly upped the actor’s asking fee? Perhaps the studio spotted the same excited reaction and preemptively killed the deal out of fear of Statham’s management going for more money? Who knows. The bottom line is that yesterday the Crank star was at the top of the list and deep in negotiations and today Marvel has moved on to other pastures." Each of those possible theories make perfect sense.

There's nothing to say he would have definitely landed the role of course, but this seems awfully similar to what happened with Joaquin Phoenix and Doctor Strange last year. Collider jumped the gun by reporting that the actor had landed the role, everyone got excited, and the deal suddenly fell apart. It's doubtful that Statham's recent comments about Marvel movies have anything to do with this, and he may have in fact made those because his Bullseye would have brought something different to that world in terms of practical fight scenes. Now though, I guess we'll never know!
