In all iterations of the story the bookies have his father killed before he makes it home he never escapes with matt regardless. :heh: thats how it always happens, just like batman.

He knew he wouldnt make it home.. shyt he knew he probably wouldnt make it out the gym. thats why he told the bookie (or his friend) to cash out as soon as the match was over and put the $$$ in Matt's account

O think his issue was with CHOOSING to make a choice that would get him killed instead of being alive for his son

Matt never knew about the $$ until he heard him after he got blinded. then MAtt did that we get up.. yadda ya speech... He made the decision for his son... with MAtt be blind and all he didnt want to go out like a sucker anymore.... He choose to have his son love him. Matt knew he was gonna die... you can tell by the way he handled that last day

:mjpls:

No he didn't

And yeah, he didn't want to go out like a sucker anymore but there were alternative choices.

Just completed watching this took me 4 days but hey. fell just a couple of points below my expectations just due to some negatives.

First being the first half, the 1st couple of fights were :gladbron: with the show never deviating from its tone tho and there being an abundance of dark alley scenes it started to become a tad redundant. The following episodes after fisk is established is where we start to get more story more character development less fights. This is when the show really gets going in my book.

Speaking of which fisk, d'onofrio was I don't even know. I got it (sometimes) but it wasn't as enjoyable to watch and I don't mean that in a good way. The only times I was sold was when he meets Ben :mjcry:,daredevil. Sometimes it felt like a train wreck but at the same time I couldn't turn away it was weird.

The cast was great Cox was such a revelation, hated his cocky ass in boardwalk and didn't think he was the right guy but he was the shyt. I knew Curtis hall was bait from his first scene, just being isolated and old was a giveaway that when he gets got it's going to important in some way. Foggy isn't as annoying as he looks he just should be heard but not seen. Going to miss dude from broken arrow, such a typecast but he is the best at it. Stitch or whatever was a great addition, another underrated actor

Loved the cinemahotography/choreography and ambitious attempt. Over all I think they achieved something great, only think I hated was fisk's love storyline. What was the objective? To humanize him? Well if that was the case why did his girl become down with his ways so quickly? Once that happened she became an enabler. It was the only poor story and I hope the actress never returns

The Truth

For all the brehs looking for Easter Eggs - this is a pretty conclusive list. A few of them made me :ohhh:

I appreciate the Easter Eggs

That was the only thing I didnt like about the show was that I thought it had no legit ties to the other Marvel shows or the MCU... But seeing this now I can kinda see some of the Easter eggs for the next couple seasons.

Overall, the show was great and a great change of pace from the other Marvel shows/movies. It was very dark and gritty compared to Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, and the movies. It reminded me of the first season of Arrow except with a MA rating and a lil but more developed in the backstory

The red costume was a lil questionable and the end (showing him standing and jumping off shyt) was kinda corny but still looking forward to the next season of it.

Dude who played Kingpin did an excellent, although different from what I expected, job doing so.

I'm definitely looking forward to everything else Marvel has planned and upcoming. Luke Cage, Iron Fist, even Ant-Man

S.M.B 4 EVER
I finished watching the season last night. I enjoyed and I definitely hope we get more seasons with these characters. Maybe for season 2 we get a better opening credits scene.
