"The Muppets" on ABC thread (5/12/16 update: Cancelled)

I'm on ep 8 and I've gotta say the biggest letdown about this is the lack of great guests.
Surely they can do better then Chelsea Handler

this show had major buzz the first few weeks and then i heard nothing about it...even my girl was hype about this shyt and havent heard her mention it once after the first few episodes.

Once i heard they replaced the show runner and was changing the tone of the show to make it more light hearted I stopped watching

I think that was 5 or 6 episodes in

It didn't even change for the worse then, it was still funny.

Yup. I got 720p rips of the Muppets and will have to toss it in the bushes.

I'm surprised ABC cancelled it considering the Muppets are a Disney brand. I think they couldnt decide if they wanted it to be more adult oriented or for the kids considering the Muppets started out for adults back in the day.

But when parents started complaining about this show's adult themes, I knew the show was in trouble. It sucks because as an "adult" show it had potential. Still, it felt a little restrictive because they spent 95% of the time at the studio for Piggy's show and after a while it felt too much like 30 Rock meet the Office. The shyt shoulda been half Piggy's show and the other half based in the bar the Ralf owns (and the fukkery they get into). And then on the flip side, focus on the fukkery that the band gets into, along with focusing on the nerds of the show and turn that into some fake Big Bang Theory vignette.

Either way, the ball was dropped on this show, from the showrunner issue, to the parents who prolly expected Sesame Street 2.0, to too much Kermit/Piggy (leave that shyt for 5 seasons later and let Kermit fukk mad bytches and be a boss).

Also, the celeb cameos were always weak as fukk. I cant see how they couldnt get A-listers/high B-listers and musicians to do appearances considering its a show about a talk show. Chelsea Handler, Key & Peele and Kelly Ripa are weak ass guest appearances. Disney coulda easily forced a bunch of their top movie talent to do the show
