I am sure Eastwood, as an ancient white man is humble, and though conflicted, an honorable man, while the Sinaloa traffickers are savage killers and ruthless gangsters.
Whats wrong wit yall crying over the misrepresentation of sinaloa drug traffickers in cinema. Lmao

You acting like mules are anything but expendable. He lucky he didnt die after the first one like those tunnel diggers did.

‘The Mule’ Review: Clint Eastwood’s Very Strange Drug Trip

Pretty much exactly as I have described it in here, the audacity to paint this guy, who trafficked for over 10 years, as spending a year or so in the business, is just offensively blatant. A good American guy gone wrong. But redeemed.

You're reading things into it because of his politics outside of the movie, but most gangster movies are like that. The main character is flawed, but not a bad guy like a lot of the people he's around.

Here is the first trailer for The Mule, which marks Clint Eastwood’s first time in front of and behind the camera since Gran Torino in 2008. He plays Earl Stone — broke, alone and facing foreclosure of his business. Then he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, it would seem. But Earl doesn’t know that he just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does so well that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn’t the only one keeping tabs on this mysterious new mule: He also has also hit the radar of a hard-charging DEA agent (Bradley Cooper). But as his money problems fade, Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it’s uncertain if he’ll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel’s enforcers, catch up to him.

Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest and Andy Garcia co-star in the Warner Bros film from Imperative Entertainment and BRON Creative, along with Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, Ignacio Serricchio, Loren Dean and Eugene Cordero. Nick Schenk, who also penned Gran Tarino, scripted The Mule, which opens December 14.

Gran Torino was a racist cacfest. Clint Eastwood is a capable Director, some of his movies, especially his Westerns are great. But he is very obviously a biggotted racist cac, especially now that he has gotten old. I'm not going to watch this :camby:

Eastwood is basically a hack at this point. The Mule is deeply inelegant filmmaking and just remarkably bland. One of the worst films I've seen this year.
:pachaha:

I love this.

I'm enjoying stupid movies lately like this and bird box.

I think this new long work commute has turned me into a casual

Just saw it.

Too many loose ends.

SPOILER:

FIRST of all, how you a cartel boss and you let a nikka shoot you in your own house, on your own property? Where's your loyal backers? Your personal security? He just blasted son casually and left him dead in his own yard. That shyt seemed highly unrealistic (also, I did NOT see the cast list before seeing this....so the whole time I'm like "izzat....ANDY GARCIA?!?" :mjlol:)

Then....what happened to Julio? What happened to the snitch ass Filipino dude? There are some things that needed to be tied up, I felt.

You can really see the decline with this flick. The writing is bad and the first thing I noticed. Eastwood also seemed like he wanted to fulfill a fantasy with the "sex" scenes. Or maybe he just wanted to grab some ass and making the Mexicans look silly.

I wouldn't call it a horrible movie but very average at best and nowhere near the quality in which the trailer promised.

You're reading things into it because of his politics outside of the movie, but most gangster movies are like that. The main character is flawed, but not a bad guy like a lot of the people he's around.

But the question is why is ALWAYS the white man who gets to be "flawed but redeemable". Where are the flawed and misunderstood and redeemable Mexican drug flicks? Where are the flawed but redeemable black thug flicks? It's fukking agenda and people are sick of these flawed but redeemable white men who are disingenuously written as sympathetic and doing the best they can. Everyone has a story but theirs is the only one that gets told over and over again. fukk them, and fukk Clint Eastwood for peddling this tripe.

didn't finish it. don't plan to. felt like a b-movie

1.5/5
There was some directional choices I do have to give Eastwood the side eye about, but otherwise it was a nice matinee.

Oh, and stop taking the gran turino way out, that is played out now

It seems that Eastwood is intent on becoming the living embodiment of "old man yells at cloud" in his final years, and the stuff he yells are racist slurs about immigrants. At least that's my only takeaway from this film.

Not bad, but wasn't good either.

was a decent watch at the crib, but would have felt like a waste of time if I went out to see it.

waste of a pretty good cast too. Coop, Fish, and Pena...
