if you judged everything on the personal life of an actor (or musician) you'd probably never watch another movie again.

Hollywood is full of weirdos and scumbags. Someone's politics won't stop me from watching something that looks good.

Did you even read my post? I don't avoid things based people's politics. I said I hope he doesn't shoehorn his politics into the movie.

Has he done that before? Not that I seen every one but I don't really recall him overtly doing that.

I can't recall him every doing that either, but Mexican cartels is a hot button Republican issue when it comes to border patrol. I don't think it's necessarily coincidental a staunch Republican supporter is making a movie about a white man who is working for them. But I'm gonna check it out and see what's up.

I think the closest he got was that Bradley Cooper war movie and really it was the lightest of suggestions and you had to know info outside the movie to see it.
Movies like Gran Torino and True Crime actually go against what you might think his politics are. He also did a biopic on Charlie Bird Parker (didn't see it) another unexpected move when you think of his Republican Convention performance.

I know the original story background, but I am so disgusted and tired of Clint Eastwood and his all American propaganda, demonized Mexican drug cartel members, it's just sick. Before I watched the trailer I knew......the hero is the aging white American male, who didn't know he was trafficking 250 kilo loads from Arizona to the Detroit area, and his handlers weren't Sinaloa bagmen and errand boys. This paints it as a mistake, and a good man, the forgotten man, getting in over his head, only for the "big Government" and Mexicans to enter as the true villains. This is just offensively stupid. Another white male hero story.

Check the actual story, and his guilty plea.

Ninety-Year Old Drug Courier Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

Edit: Is Andy Garcia playing a cartel enforcer? Jesus christ.
Oh Boy!
:meloohhh:

He shoulda never made Gran Torino tho. lol
everytime i see this muthafukka now "zipper heads and spades" is in like a comic book word bubble next to his head.

I'm a real fan of movies starring Clint Eastwood. Some of them are some of my favorite movies.

Gran Torino
Million Dollar Baby
True Crime (love this movie, the payoff was friggin' dope!)
The Bridges of Madison County ( don't judge me, thoroughly enjoyable love story)
A Perfect World (criminally slept on)
In the Line of Fire (personal classic)
Unforgiven (all-time classic, I watch this whenever it's on)
Heartbreak Ridge (not a classic or anything but another movie I love and have seen all or parts of at least 15-20 times.)
The Good the Bad and the Ugly

This looks like something I will definitely see eventually.

Clint Eastwood be having me like :russ: knocking down Rene Russo

- "He's got panache. it means flamboyance."
- "I know what it means!"
- "Really? I had to look it up."

Frank had G in that and would have been #MeTooed right out of the Secret Service if the movie was set during modern times. :russ:

Blood Work is OK but I dunno I didn't like the twist for some reason.

This shyt just shot to the top of my most anticipated outta nowhere.

Clint's the one republican I always give a pass to

Clint's politics are weird as hell. He has very liberal ideas and he has described himself as a libertarian before, but he also said he would never vote for a non-Republican president and of course he also did the tonedeaf empty chair bit a few years ago. Sometimes I feel he's gone down the Charlton Heston path where the older he got, the more his conservatism and adversity of modernism has completely turned his political stance around.

If you are a jazz fan, 'Bird' is something worth the watch. Clint also produced a documentary on Thelonious Monk called 'Straight, No Chaser' that was excellent. Politics aside, the man makes good films. Plus, though he's a Republican, I don't think he's a Trump guy.
