I didn't remember a lot about it but the classic scenes they always show. It on Netflix right now. This movie is Scorsese was on his shyt with this one.. the new Joker movie appears to take some inspiration from it.

De Niro was one mentally disturbed muthafukka. The way this is shot I know part of it is because of technology but it so raw.. the streets of NY was

Hookers and dope fiends everywhere. My guy said he'd have to wash the backseat every night cause of blood and cum stains, obviously it's violent too.

Slow burn but it's worth it.

Harvey Keitel tho... what the fukk he looked ridiculous

And Jodie Foster was legit 12 years old in the movie. They had to use a body double for the more explicit shyt

My mom grew up in 60s/70s NYC, Redhook at that. She said the whole city was a grimy shythole back then. She went to a Catholic school on the white side of town and she said even that was sketchy. Buncha doped up white kids

at the fact that they alternated ads for hard core XXX porn and mainstream blockbusters.

Plus, the "Classified" section of EVERY tabloid paper (NY Post, Daily News, Newsday) used to have an "escorts" section. I'm sure they want us all to forget about that now.
