Which is why you have such a strong opinon on Forza Horizon 2 although you have no receipts :sas2:

And why @Prodigal Syndicate syndicate has hundreds of posts about Xbox one and X1 games although he's never set eyes on them let alone played

@Kamikaze Revy its fine if you want to condone profile stalking, but these aren't the two guys you should be teaming up with :francis:
If he's wrong I'll tell him he's wrong. He knows this. You know this, you saw me go toe to toe with people about Tomb Raider. In this case they are right. When I think they are wrong I will say so. Its a case by case basis.

Option c.

Elle reacts to enemies realistically, while loosely following the player :ehh:
You mean like this:

Or this part where she can shoot enemies for you
?
last-of-us-joel-ellie-rifle-670.jpg

I mean depending on who you go to she'll shoot.

But if you played the game you'd know this.

What's next?? Her stabbing the enemy who's wrestling Joel is unrealistic?? Give it a break man.

I never said it was broken. I said it was comments like that that make the game overrated.

I'm still not convinced this is a reasonable gripe.

I never played the original Halo (see how easy that is?) but I'm guessing it's more of a FPS than horror TPS with stealth elements.

I want to know which games, where stealth is a major component for the player, has AI companions with great stealth & pathfinding? Must be a bytch to program.

No. It's very possible to code A.I. That tries to avoid other A.I.
No sarcasm at all but....receipts. Seriously, I'd be interested in what games with this level of stealth and partner AI have successfully done what you are expecting from TLOU. And since we're talking about an old game right now, let's keep the comparisons of stealth AI to games that came out before or around the same time as the original release of TLOU for the sake of this specific point. For information sake, bring up any game at all in any time frame that has successfully done what you are saying.

I mean people negging for opinions, calling each other stans and not giving an inch when valid criticism or good points are presented, along with the overall tone of alot posts in here.
The overall tone is sarcasm. If you're looking for a mature, well thought out conversation you've come to the wrong place. For that matter, coming to the internet in search of the same is a fool's errand to begin with.

They did a good job with quiet in MGSV

Quiet basically is out of sight and hides far away and shoots enemies when you tell her to or when you're about to be spotted. She's a direct tool, a gameplay option. Ellie is self controlled. Invalid comparison.

Quiet is a gameplay element, Ellie is there for narrative purposes with some gameplay bits sprinkled in automatically(She'll help you if you're fighting someone who's wrestling you, she'll give you supplies and she basically is organic so to speak as oppossed to quiet simply being there.)

If anything, there's not many games similar to TLOU where there's stealth elements while there's also a non controlled buddy AI with you. It's very different.

Quiet was a mile away from you the entire time and MANY complained she was OP because of it. TLOU the character plays a key supporting role and is with you shoulder to shoulder the entire time. Comparing quiet to Ellie is not a good comparisson in this conversation by any stretch.

Well obviously there is no exact comparison.

But quiet does exactly what I said is possible. She reacts intelligently to danger and purposely avoids them as she follows you around.

It's fine to say it couldn't be done perfectly but....

There's no reason your companions should behave like the enemy is just not there.

It's bad coding/a.i. Any way you cut it.

If you can't bring up another game that did the same thing better than were just splitting hypothetical hairs. While we're at it, why did the AI spell the blood on Joel or hear him breathing. Why didnt Joel ever have to take a piss. Are you gonna tell they literally CANT program these things.

@MeachTheMonster a more fair comparisson would be Ellie and Diamond Dog. And even in MGSV which had incredible ai, there are still MANY times DD ran past people unnoticed and acted erratically. And that was even with having the ability to directly command him.
And DD actually attempted to avoid enemies.

There's plenty of examples of companion A.I. Being better than it is in TLOU. I don't know why Yall go so hard to make excuses for it.
