I thought my point was clear...maybe it wasn't.

Football has a 77% white audience. 15% black and only 8% hispanic.

http://www.statista.com/statistics/...ular-season-tv-audience-by-race-or-ethnicity/

It has an audience that is overwhelmingly a. white, and b. American. White Americans are dwindling in number. Leagues of sports with international audiences like soccer and basketball are better equipped to deal with that.

I don't think immigrants from Asia, Latin American, and Africa that supplant white people a bit will just fill their shoes as consumers of football. There will be some drop off. Hispanics are the most rapidly growing group and they only make up 8% of football viewers now. It's not about dominant culture trumping anything because dominant culture is fluid by generation.

:snoop:

Why are you assuming these ppl are all fresh off the boat? There's millions of them HERE RIGHT NOW and have been for years, and 25-30 years from now maybe whites will dwindle in number, but by that point, the other groups will make up the difference in NFL fanship. And let's say for example there's 300 million white ppl in the USA, the majority of them are likely not NFL fans as it is

Do you realize how many millions of Mexicans in Dallas ALONE who are huge Cowboy fans. They go to games, buy jerseys, everything. They spend TONS of money.

Football is american culture, and other races have & are ASSIMILATING into American culture.

The same way white people, hispanics, asians have assimilated into hip-hop to keep it alive.

Bruh are you dense? There's already a bunch of generations of immigrants here that are already assimilated. And guess what? They proportionately do not like football and support football as much as white people. Only 8% of the NFL's audience is hispanic. Hispanics are 17% of the country's population. It's probably a negligible proportion of Asians that comprise their audience. They're not going to all just magically fall in line with the "dominant culture" and become football enthusiasts, as you're so simplistically suggesting. We already have enough hard data to show that's not the case.

Why would you even attempt to argue that the popularity of football will wane, and decline...simply because of immigration :heh:

I didn't simply say that, but ok.

your logic should dictate that we be using the metric system and ride or die for soccer too
lol...no it shouldn't, but ok.

Nor did I say football will die.

Argue with ghosts, breh.

your argument is foolishness b/c, again, you're assuming 100% of any race needs to be football fans for the game to survive.

An immigrant who came over here in 1970 may not giev a damn about football, but his kids might and his grandkids likely do. That's how this works. Football is too ingrained in pop culture to be ignored and it's a force in the lives of many ppl.

Even women have figured this out and become football fans b/c it's attractive to men.

Argue what? I am presenting facts. If you blatantly ignore empirical evidence, you're dumb. Regardless of what enthusiasm you see in the stands in Texas and California, the fact remains that hispanics are 17% of the population, but made up only 8% of NFL viewership. Without looking it up, I know their contribution to ticket sales and merchandise is even less based on purchasing power. White people are 77% of the population and make up 77% of NFL viewership, and I'm sure much of a percentage of sales and merchandise.

Your lack of reading comprehension is getting annoying. You're acting like I said hispanic people don't watch and consume NFL at all, when all I said is they watch and consume significantly less than white people, which is factual.

Hispanic cowboy fans are sooo deep out here, Texans are getting that way and I KNOW the Raiders hispanic fan base is insane.

This is becoming the norm in many cities. I bet San Diego and Phoenix are similar

You can't support what you're saying with any evidence...just assumptions. My only claim is that recent immigrant groups will like football less than white people on average, and I supported that with evidence. You have nothing.

Dude screw all these #'s and %'s you're throwing out.

We're going by what WE SEE with our eyes.

You really think the NFL knows the demo of EVERY fan? They likely take a SMALL sample size and use it as the whole.

Numbers , polls, percentages don't tell every story.

:mjlol: Yeah, I think we're done here.

Yep we are done. Because when the NFL tells you 19 million ppl watched a game this Sunday, you really think they know that?

Only the ppl with Nielsen boxes are counted, which are only some odd thousand. Then they take that number of the several thousand and appropriate it based on a % of what they feel represents hundreds of millions of viewers.

But keep believing what you want. I'll believe what I've see everyday.
