Miseducation has always been overrated to me.
Agreed. I posted the following in the Lauryn Hill discussion in The Booth:
I don’t think Lauryn, herself, is overrated but... I do believe that Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of the most overrated albums of all time. While that album has some amazing songs on there, I think there are also filler songs as well. I know that’s an unpopular opinion but I don’t think that album is as great as the praise it’s received.

Ooh good one, tough

I give the edge to badu. Really would be nitpicking because they both are Def classics that have stood the test of time but

On and on is one of the greatest beats ever produced

And I just personally feel Lauryn hill has not produced 1 song as great as this one

God damn man.

The whole vibe of that song was just different compared to other r and b stuff at the time.

I'm actually surprised more people are leaning towards Baduizm

both albums are indeed classics but Miseducation is pretty much the closest a black female artist has came to doing what Michael Jackson did with "Thriller" in terms of quality and impact
Most purest within music never consider impact, unless that is added in the question itself. The question wasn't which album had more impact, the question was which one was better. From simply a music standpoint I agree with the concensus here, baduizm was a better overall album.

That's like saying tag team had a better album than Nas it was written because they had more impact, sold more, got more spins from whoomp there it is. Lol time will always tell the story beyond the impact at that moment. And if you asked most true Michael Jackson fans, most of them would pick other albums as their favorite besides thriller. Thriller is Def not my favorite album.

Both great albums but I gotta go with Lauryn. I don't know a woman back then that didn't have that album and play the shyt out of it. She sold 420+ the first week which was a record for a female rapper at the time. That impact was real
