Michael Brooks and Sam Seder are probably the 2 most important people in my political formation over the past 4 years. MB steered me back to Nkrumah and made me reevaluate my politics. More specifically, his interviews with Milton Allimadi, Adolph Reed, and Bill Fletcher Jr made me realize that I knew much less than I believed about black history and the history of black intellectuals.

I am forever in his debt.

allimadi in studio one my favorite episodes

Well yeah don't you know all us filthy commies are basically the same as Nazi's, with our vicious and hate filled rhetoric like "Build a world of kindness and compassion" and "Hunger as a concept is something that shouldn't exist". Of course CNN or MSNBC won't give us the time of day.
I think Chris Hayes would have but he's on vacation this week

Still can't believe this, it's just so sudden and unexpected. Dude was just getting started. He was perhaps my favorite political commentator.

I thought he was going to be around for a very long time and have a big impact. He wasn't your typical online commentator hack. He was really knowledgeable and insightful and genuine and, of course, funny.

I also think, better than most on the left, he was able to conceptualize and articulate a way forward that cut through the divisions and problems that have prevented the left from getting anywhere close to power.

In these times when the country (and, really the world) just seems to be going completely to shyt, it was voices like Michael Brooks' which kept me feeling like all sanity hadn't been lost.

He will be sorely missed.

Absolutely devastating news. This shyt hit me really hard for someone who I'd never met; absolutely heart breaking. :mjcry:

I credit Michael as one of the people responsible for shaping my political ideology and understanding of foreign policy over the last few years.

Dude was hella smart, funny, and had a way in exuding empathy. He was the only persons that had a platform like his who would discuss policy on a global scale.

We lost one of the biggest voices on the Left and a general decent and righteous human being. The Majority Report will never be the same and there will be a huge void in Progressive media with his loss.

It's clear how much he meant to Progressives, so i can't begin to imagine what his peers, friends, and family must be going through right now.

Gone but not forgotten.

Rest in Power, Michael Brooks
