The world wasn't ready for you brother. But we'll carry on your legacy, we'll bring the change you wanted, bet on that. We will build a world of compassion, love, empathy and kindness. And we'll do it by breaking down the world of rot around us.

I’m heartbroken - Brooksy was the definition of one of the good ones. Emphasizing compassion through solidarity with workers’ movements around the world, I learned about Patrice Lumumba and Evo Morales from his show. It just feels so unjust that he’s left us when we need his voice more then ever. Rest in power, comrade :mjcry:

Michael Brooks and Sam Seder are probably the 2 most important people in my political formation over the past 4 years. MB steered me back to Nkrumah and made me reevaluate my politics. More specifically, his interviews with Milton Allimadi, Adolph Reed, and Bill Fletcher Jr made me realize that I knew much less than I believed about black history and the history of black intellectuals.

I am forever in his debt.

I never would have known Milton if not for Michael, and Black Star News has shaped my knowledge so god damn much since I discovered it. We can't let this die, people need to know and hear these voices, the left can't get trapped in this idea that only the US matters, everywhere matters.
