I don't see how this makes the Warriors better. Jimmy is increasingly injury prone and his production has declined two straight years. This is Year 14 and he's 35, this isn't the same Jimmy at the apex of his deep playoff Heat runs....

Also the fact that he's a habitual cancer...

Miami won this trade. They've remained a Top 6 playoff contender with him out, got rid of him, and got depth back...

We talk about playstyles with everyone else, how does Jimmy's style of play mesh here? He's a ball stopper, needs the ball in his hands to be at his best, and he's not getting that in SF. The last time I remember him playing off-ball was that year in Philly, and he was an 18 point, 4 assist guy for them. That playoff run it went up to 19 and 5...

19 and 5 really moves the needle for this Warriors team?
It makes them better, but not better to where they'll be contending.

The other real downside to Jimmy in this offense is that he doesn't stretch the floor, which they've been in desperate need of all season. But that can be mitigated somewhat by the fact that he knows how to survey the floor to a far greater degree than Wiggins did. He's aggressive, whereas Wiggins isn't. He can get to the FT line and stop the bleeding, which has been one of the team's weak spots for a minute, which Wiggins rarely ever aided in (never mind the fact he's a terrible FT shooter).

He's a competent secondary playmaker, whereas Wiggins isn't. He can get his own when the game slows down in the 4th, which has been an ailment of their offense in the clutch this season, whereas Wiggins struggled to have any real impact when they needed a bucket down the stretch.

He generally has a much higher BBIQ than Wiggins too, so the offense should flow more organically once he gets settled.

Having another alpha on the team will also means opposition teams will treat them with more respect, and that should help alleviate some of the pressure that Steph has been under this year. Now Steph will have someone else that the defense has to focus on, and not have all eyes on him.

Jimmy's one of the smartest cats in the league, so it'll be like having a super-charged Iggy on the team. The Warriors have been missing those type of high BBIQ players for a while. Too many dumbass muh'fukkas or inexperienced players have really fukked up how their system functions.

I think that'll be the biggest improvement that the entire team will end up benefitting from - that natural order of chaos that has been synonymous with Warriors basketball.

i dont have the overall stats in front of me the past month so i dont know if the overall offense has improved any or not but i know up until january 1st only 1 guy in their top 8 was shooting above 49.8% on 2's. of their remaining rotation guys post trade only guy who is below that mark is draymond but he does have an overall positive impact on the offense. the 4 guys that are leaving were all below that mark.

the warriors 2pt% had been trending badly going from 6th two years ago, to 13th last year, to 28th at the start of january but now its up to 25th. jimmy should improve that even further as well as already mentioned his ability to get to the ft line and make them for a team that is dead last in the nba in ft attempts and ft%. i dont think the warriors pre trade were even going to make the play-in. theyre not a contender but they could be a tough out.

I never got the sense that Jimmy was looked at as some tough guy more so that he’s looked at as relentless and 100% dialed in to whatever his goal is at the time. Whether it be winning, getting traded, getting paid, etc. He won’t rest until his mission is complete. Jordan nor Kobe were looked at as “tough guys” (Kobe’s chin got checked a few times) but they were looked at as RELENTLESS and that garnered them respect.

Spo got the best out of Jimmy. He’ll get the best out of Wiggins
GS already got the best out of Wiggins in 2022, and it's unlikely he'll replicate that season, especially given the Heat won't be making any extensive playoff runs anytime soon. Y'all Heat fans might like what he does on the surface, initially, but then y'all will slowly realize that he's basically a diet version of Jimmy, in the worst possible way.

He'll put up numbers from time to time, but have no real impact on the game.

He’s 29. We arent asking him to be Lebron or even a number 2 guy. He’ll be fine.
