We get an athletic wing defender who can shoot at a decent enough clip, and is also on Bam’s timeline. :ehh:

Jimmy gets his last payday and gets to coast as the #2 or 3 option on any given night until the playoffs. :ehh:

The warriors… are on the hook for $60MM a year for the next two seasons and have to mitigate another volatile element in the locker room as they try to maximize Steph’s twilight years. :scust:

I don't hate the deal for GS. People balking at 60m a year for Butler but at the end of the day this is just one final swing at a win now move for Curry. It's two years. If it doesn't work out it doesn't work out, but they ain't tied to Butler with a long contract. But it's at least more interesting than spinning the wheels hoping Wiggins can turn back the clock to 2022 or Kuminga is suddenly gonna turn into Kawhi.

Yea GS is on the same timeline as Dallas pretty much

Both of those teams will be in complete rebuilds 3-4 years from now, all those guys retiring

I don't see how this makes the Warriors better. Jimmy is increasingly injury prone and his production has declined two straight years. This is Year 14 and he's 35, this isn't the same Jimmy at the apex of his deep playoff Heat runs....

Also the fact that he's a habitual cancer...

Miami won this trade. They've remained a Top 6 playoff contender with him out, got rid of him, and got depth back...

We talk about playstyles with everyone else, how does Jimmy's style of play mesh here? He's a ball stopper, needs the ball in his hands to be at his best, and he's not getting that in SF. The last time I remember him playing off-ball was that year in Philly, and he was an 18 point, 4 assist guy for them. That playoff run it went up to 19 and 5...

19 and 5 really moves the needle for this Warriors team?

It's ok deal. Warriors had no assets to make groundbreaking deals.

They gamble on Jimmy Butler who can still make some noise even if he's overpaid. He brings more to the table than damn Wiggins and modern era slave Dennis.
